eating habits and lifestyle of obese people
NERADOVÁ, Andrea
In the theoretical part of my bachelor thesis I sum up the existing knowledge/information about obesity. In the first chapter I focus on the characteristics of obesity where I mention different definitions and ways of classification and diagnosis of obesity. In the next chapter I deal with obesity epidemiology, mentioning that it is an illness with an increasing prevalency, giving number information about obesity prvalency from different years to make its growth clearly visible. Further, I state what influences obesity prevalence. The next chapter focuses on possible causes of obesity formation. I mention possible risks, such as genetic, biochemical, psychological, socio-cultural and economic factors. In the next chapter, I describe obesity as a risk factor for the formation of certain illnesses and health condition complications. The link between obesity and certain illnesses is supported by a range of studies. In the last but one chapter I describe the prevention of obesity formation as one of the most important ways to solve the growing occurence of obesity. The last chapter is focused on the options of obesity therapy and on what types of therapy are used in different cases. In the practical part, I carried out a research on 40 respondents in which I was trying to map out their eating habits and the lifestyle of obese individuals, which was the aim of my thesis. I compared how the eating habits and lifestyle of obese individuals differed from the nutritional recommendations and helathy lifestyle principles. Women and men in the age group of 18 to 65 could be the respondents. Data collection was carried out through a quantitative method, via an anonymous questionnare. The research was carried out within the region of South Bohemia during three months in 2017. The results were evaluated via Microsoft Office Excel 2007. The total of 60 questionnares was handed out, but due to its return and unsatisfactory form-filling, the reearch file is finally made of only 40 respondents. The results prove that none, the eating habits nor the lifestyle of obese individuals significantly follow nutritional recommendations and healthy lifestyle principles. Obese individuals have an inappropriate representation of most nutrients in their diet, an irregular diet and low physical activity. Further on, I have confirmed my assumption that genetic factors, besides eating habits and lifestyle also support obesity.
Lifestyle of seniors with diabetes mellitus type 2 due to their diet and physical activity
PETROVÁ, Zuzana
Recently, the number of patients with the second type of diabetes mellitus increases. There can be several causes to this disease. One of them is an unhealthy lifestyle and along with it bad eating habits, very little or none of any physical activities and from this deriving obesity. The aim of my thesis was to discover the lifestyle of seniors with the second type of diabetes mellitus, with the consideration of their nutrition and physical activities. 1. The following research questions were chosen: 2. What eating habits did the patient have before the doctor diagnosed the disease? 3. What eating habits does the patient with the diagnosed disease have? 4. How does the physical activity from before and after the diagnosis differ? In which way can the creation of this disease be influenced from the point of view of the nutrition and physical activity? The empirical part of the thesis is carried out by the means of qualitative method of research investigation. The data gathering was made with the help of half-structured interview. The respondents were obtained by means of the snow ball method. Altogether, 14 interviews took place. The interview was focused on eating habits, physical activities, diagnostics and cure of the disease. The result of the thesis is an informational flyer about the healthy and unhealthy food ingredients for the diabetics. The results imply that the eating habits of the respondents before they were diagnosed was completely inappropriate. The eating habits lacked routine, enough portions of food per day, as well as consummation of vegetables and fruit. The drinking routine was also insufficient. Nowadays, the eating habits of the respondents are much better. The respondents consume 5 meals per day and they don't lack enough consummation of fruit and vegetables. The physical activities quantitatively progressed as well, in comparison to the period before the disease.

Milk and dairy products in alimentation of primary school children
HONZEJKOVÁ, Sára
Milk and milk products are irreplaceable in the children´s nutrition. Substances which milk contains assist children to the proper growth and development. The most important substances are for example proteins or calcium and therefore it´s necessary to feed children with milk. Children consume milk practically since birth. However, milk consumption may be associated with health problems, such as milk allergy or lactose intolerance. In order to increase the consumption of milk was introduced subsidized program "School Milk", which can be used by all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The research was based on a quantitative approach. The research tool has become a questionnaire given out to three grades of selected elementary school. Research shows that the selected students consume milk in sufficient amounts, especially cow's milk, which has chosen the 93.8% of respondents. It is primarily milk skimmed and not flavoured. Respondents prefer the most milk itself, then yogurt (56.9%), cheese (55.1%) and butter (50.2%), regardless of age or gender. Among the most popular cheeses include semi-hard cheese, which prefers the 82 respondents from a total of 225. Dislikes are then other fermented products such as sour buttermilk, which is preferred only by 7.6% of respondents, or kefir. Some of the products are completely unknown to the pupils. For example sour milk never tasted more than 71% of respondents. In the health effects and milk production pupils have very limited knowledge; especially pupils in lower grades have very limited knowledge. To name at least one important substance for human health was able to do less than half of the respondents. The most commonly mentioned was calcium and protein, and other substances only sporadically. Also knowledge of milk production has proven to be very tricky. A total of 56.9% of respondents said they do not know any dairy. Percentage using a subsidized program "School Milk" is very low. This program uses only 32.9% of pupils, especially in the lower grades. The research showed that 17.3% of students are overweight or obese, especially the girls in the 5th grade.
