This thesis called "Television game shows and quiz shows in the Czech republic between 1989 - 2004" deals with the historical development of television game shows and quiz shows in the Czech republic in the first 15 years since the so- called Velvet revolution in 1989. The first, theoretical part outlines some basic terms related both to television game shows and quiz shows and to television entertainment in general. The second part summarizes television competitions in Czech TV stations in the given period from the historical point of view.

The thesis "The Launch and Growth of the Reader's Digest Phenomenon on the Czech Media Market" recounts the history of the Reader's Digest Association (RDA) and its Czech affiliated company, Reader's Digest Výběr s.r.o. The first part of the thesis presents a chronological overview of the RDA's development from its founding to the present day. The second part describes and characterizes the RDA's first and best known product, Reader's Digest magazine. The magazine also engages in thematic analysis, which determines the specific themes of its content. The thesis describes the RDA's activities in the international sphere, focusing primarily on its Czech affiliate, namely on both its production and the marketing methods used by this Czech company.

The diploma thesis "Tabloidization of Czech Television News from 1998 to 2008" focuses on the phenomenon of tabloidization and the question of whether and how it has manifested itself in the Czech news, in this stance three main Czech television news broadcasts and for a comparison two Czech dailies. The thesis' theoretical part tries to introduce tabloidization and basic attitudes towards it, the research part than uses the content analysis to find elements identified as features of tabloidization. The findings of the analysis are compared within the contemporary context and situation in the final part of the thesis.
