Vogl, Tomáš ; Záruba, Robert (advisor) ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the type of split commentary on television sports broadcasts, in which a commentator-professional from the ranks of journalists and one or more commentators-experts from the ranks of former top athletes in the given discipline collaborate on the commentary. Many academic texts have not yet dealt with this type of commentary and its development, so my aim is to offer a definition of split commentary, its brief factual development, to determine the main features of its real use and to compare its form when commenting on various sports. In the future, this thesis can serve as inspiration for texts that could relate, for example, to a comparison of the form of split commentary at home and abroad. The thesis offers an introductory theoretical part with the definition of sports commentary in general, determining the components of which sports commentary consists, defining the type of split commentary, describing the roles of commentators in its use and the actual development of split commentary in Czechoslovak and later Czech Television. The methodological part is followed by an empirical part focused on the research of specific examples of sports broadcasts commented on by split commentary. The main features of split commentary in relation to the components that make up...

This work deals with the development of football fans under the influence of the media. Approaching, what factors affect the behavior of fans at the stadium and beyond and what are the consequences of their actions. Thesis is based on the methods of investigation of processes and interactions. Basic sources of information in addition to the observation of the author and literature are interviews with personalities from the football society. These include sports journalists, club officials and fans themselves. The work is divided into two parts. The first provides a theoretical basis, which describes the development of football fans after the Velvet Revolution, the non-media effects on behavior and the possible consequences of their interactions. The second part is based primarily on interviews and tries to answer the research question if the media play a crucial role in the development and behavior of football fans. In the final analysis, the author will, based on his knowledge, apart from its answer, offer opportunities for further development, as well as a theory, which factors may contribute to the future behavior of fans. The shadow of sport
Stróžiková, Anna ; Lokšík, Martin (advisor) ; Záruba, Robert (referee)
The written bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of eating disorders in performance and elite athletes. The main part of the thesis is a short journalistic film entitled The Shadows of Sport, depicting the narratives of three successful female athletes who have encountered the disease during their careers. The interviewees describe personal experiences such as the cause of the disease, the treatment process and the lasting effects that still plague them today. They give the viewer a little look behind the scenes of sporting competitions and give a glimpse into their own mindsets. The work also includes a short statement from former biathlete Gabriela Soukalova, whose book, along with its subsequent rejection by society, inspired the author to tackle this topic. The written work aims to present the viewer of the audiovisual film with background information about eating disorders in order to better understand the journalistic film. In addition to defining the basic concepts and treatments, the paper also deals with explaining how and why the disease occurs in the sports sector in the first place, who can help athletes avoid difficulties of this type, and what health complications most often occur in patients.

Macák, Tomáš ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Záruba, Robert (referee)
This diploma thesis with the title "The Work of a Sports Expert in Television Broadcast" offers a complex view on experts that in the position of a so-called co-commentator (color commentator) accompany a given sports event during a television broadcast. With the help of qualitative research - semi-structured interviews and qualitative content analysis - I have tried to achieve the most detailed view of the profession of an expert in the domestic environment. The analysis was also focused on the way that experts are being selected by television stations or how the approach of individual co-commentators can differ towards their role in television. I was also interested in the extent of overlap between the roles of the commentator and the expert. To achieve the required aim I have in total focused on ten experts from nine various sports and three television stations.
