Reinforced concrete aeration tank

The aim of this work is to design and static analysis features open embedded aeration tank wastewater treatment plants, in particular the assessment base plate and exterior walls. On the basis of reports is prepared drawings consisting of reinforcement drawings and drawing shapes. The proposal was made on the values of the internal forces of the outputs of computer program SCIA Engineer 2012-Student Edition.

"Golden' crops"- reason for their origin, construction, as well as use

Vitamin A deficiency is a long-term issue influencing mainly the population of poor countries. It causes a number of health problems (eyesight quality, susceptibility to infection diseases). Vitamin A is obtained naturally from food, however in poor countries there is a lack of varied diet rich in micronutrients. Local population is dependent on a few crop types actually planted and harvested is such regions. A sustainable way to improve this situation is growing of biofortified rice, maize, sweet potato, banana, sorghum, or cassava. These crops are called "golden crops" for their specific yellow to orange color. In the thesis, I thoroughly describe the biosynthesis of Provitamin A and the issue of its deficiency. Based on studied literature, I have compiled the currently known information about the production of golden rice and other golden crops consumed mainly in poor countries. There is a breeding method aiming at increasing the level of β-carotene in consumed parts of plants described for each particular crop type. Described methods are either conventional when the enriched plants are obtained through traditional breeding (sweet potato), or processes of genetic engineering are applied because of the insufficiency or impossibility to use conventional methods (banana, rice, cassava, sorghum)....

Achievements of children from shelter homes in secondary and tertiary education

In this thesis, the issue of school success of clients from children's homes from the perspective of the Czech and foreign studies and from the perspective of clients and carers in children's homes is studied. Work includes results of a qualitative survey, which was made by the technique of semi-sctructured in-depth interviews, analyzed by using grounded theory. The aim of the research is to examine on bases of the statement of current and former clients of children's homes and their carers, which factors have the greatest impact on client's success in the educational process within the frame of secondary and tertiary education and make this a guidance for pedagogical work. Results show that from the perspective of both sides, length of educational influence in children's home is generally considered as a positive factor ("making mutual pathway with the carer"). Influence of the biological family members and client's contact with them is considered as a negative factor. Children's home clients attach much greater positive importance to amicable relationship with their carer and his empathy with the emphasis on mutual trust.
