From Outer Space to Brussels

Bc. Daniel Verner Vesmír z Bruselu Master's Thesis Abstract The master thesis analyzes reflections of exploration of the Outer Space in Czechoslovak art in years 1957-1963. The first part of this thesis summarizes the "Space Races" in said period, the main task, however, is to analyze space motives in Czechoslovak art and culture during those years; it also comments on possible interpretations and typologies. The research is based on contemporary magazines, illustrated books for children and grown-ups, toys, films, applicated art, design, architecture, paintings and sculptures.
"Enemies or Allies"? Contribution to the British-German Relations before the First World War

This text analyses selected affairs that shaped the relations between Great Britain and Germany in years preceding the Great War: since the very beginning of the 1890s until the outbreak of the War. It also depicts both countries in matters of constitution, domestic politics, economy, army, navy and selected affairs of their international relations that influenced the country's international politics. The main source for writing this text was history books by mostly Czech and Anglo-Saxon authors. A collection of state documents and papers was used as a source, as well as some newspaper articles.
