Rapping Children: Mutual Relationship between the Socialization of Adolescents and their Favourite Music Genre

The diplomathesis focuses on the influence of rap music on adolescents. The work is based on the analysis and synthesis of primary and secondary sources. The research section relies on qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with informants. The first part explores the history and development of rap in the USA. The second part is dedicated to the Czech rap scene, identifying key artists and events that have shaped it, and examining its specific impact on adolescents. The outcome of the thesis is to highlight the potential negative and positive effects of rap on its listeners. This influence is shaped by various aspects.
