The diary of the European war. Daily experience of the big war in the East seen by the eyes of a czech teacher, František Pražan
VÁŇA, Jiří
This dissertation describes a six-year period of Fr. Pražan´s life. It covers his life from the mobilization and his stay at the eastern front, from his captivity and stay in Russia to his return home alike. The everyday life in Russia forms the core of this dissertation. The work contains the reflection of a russian city and village as well as russian holiday, habits and customs. It also describes jobs that have to be done by the prisoners. You can also learn something about the russian quisine and the catering of prisoners. The last part of the dissertation is concerned with Fr. Pražan´s free time and ways how to spend it. I also recorded several events in his war life - the moment of his imprisonment, his entry to the Czechoslovakian legions, and his participation in the second Czechoslovakian army congress in Russia. This work is based on non-published materials, Fr. Pražan´s diary. I also used his memories that were later revised. Using other legionnaire diaries was necessary for comparative chapters.
Dynamics of moss overgrowth in ditches in restorated drained mires in area of Modrava bogs (Šumava NP)

Eva Novozámská Dynamics of moss overgrowth in ditches in restorated drained mires in area of Modrava bogs (Šumava NP) Abstract This thesis is devoted to a research of induced and natural Sphagnum overgrowth in dammed ditches in restorated drained mires of Šumava National Park within the "Programme of Peatland restoration". Induced overgrowth was studied on the peatlands Cikánská slať, Luzenská slať and Novohuťské močály and 36 permanent experimental sites were established for its study. In 2006 Sphagnum fallax or Sphagnum majus were placed in each site in dependence on the type of locality. For four years increase or decrease of Sphagnum were monitored. The study of natural overgrowth was investigated on the same localities as induced overgrowth. The Sphagnum cover was noted in the year 2009 at 65 sites. The depth of the ditch and the flow of water were the most important variables influencing natural overgrowth and the cover was almost the same on all localities. In the case of induced overgrowth the most important parameters were depth and width of the ditch, amount of the branch support and the interaction of depth and width. The depth of the ditch in the case of natural overgrowth was used to generate a model for prediction of Sphagnum cover. It was possible to compare the induced overgrowth with the...
By-laws of a housing cooperative
Váňa, Jiří ; Oehm, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zahradníčková, Marie (referee)
As the name suggests the thesis deals with the articles of a housing association. Articles are the constitution of a housing association and the most important internal housing association's regulation. This constitution should complement the statutory provisions related to a housing association. It specifies the structure of a housing association, name, registered office, statutory bodies and their competences, scope of business, constitution and termination of a membership etc. The condition of the validity of the articles of association is its written form. The thesis consists of 6 chapters. Each chapter examines the articles of a housing association from specific perspective and also brings author's view on the articles. First chapter provides a brief picture of the beginnings of cooperatives in the world, including the housing associations. In the second chapter the development of legal provisions of articles from mid 19th to 90' of the 20th century is stated. The second chapter is divided into 5 chapters. The third chapter deals with a general introduction to the cooperatives. There are discussed the principles of the cooperatives, the term of housing of association and legislation. It also describes different types of housing associations in the world. This chapter is composed of 8 parts. The...
Využití lišejníků-možnosti využití Evropské metodiky pro mapování epifytických lišejníků
Svoboda, David ; Váňa, Jiří (advisor) ; Scheidegger, Christoph (referee) ; Guttová, Anna (referee)
Lichen uses - potentials of the European Guideline for mapping lichen diversity David Svoboda My projects had one common feature, namely the application of the European Guideline for mapping lichen diversity as an indicator of environmental stress (Asta et al. 2002). This methodology was developed in an effort to make a standardised protocol for European screening of epiphytic lichens for various purposes. The dissertation is focused on selected topics and the main objectives can be summarised as follows: 1) To evaluate the potential of the LDV method for determination of general air pollution, and the possibility of applying the new methodology in the Czech Republic. 2) To compare results given by the LDV method and the older qualitative method by Hawksworth and Rose (1970). 3) To determine the principal factors influencing the epiphytic lichen distribution in Central European oak forests, and to elucidate possible correlations among natural and human caused environmental factors in a large scale study. 4) To investigate the epiphytic lichens living in temperate oak forests, their features and possible lichenological differentiations; to determine indicative species for old growth forests and natural woodlands under different climatic conditions and human influence in the Central Europe. 5) To determine...
