Innovative trends in the Czech banking industry in comparison with the foreign banking markets

This thesis concerns comparison of contemporary banking trends in the area of innovation in the Czech Republic and in other countries. It describes current perception of innovation in general but also shows current world trends in this area. The thesis is focused on evaluation of the situation of Czech banking market and its comparison with foreign countries in the field of innovation. Apart from this comparison, the Czech competitive environment of four selected banks is evaluated in the thesis. Also, the behaviour of bank's customers with focus on their preferences in communication with banks is analysed. The thesis also contains example of innovation process including some specific innovative concepts. The benefits of the thesis are evaluation of the innovative potential of the Czech banking market and recommendation for banks, to which communication channel they should focus their efforts in the future.
Factors of market share changes of ports in EU used by clients from Czech and Slovak Republic

The thesis is focused on factors influencing port customers in their choice of the most convenient port. Port customer is primarily freight forwarder but ship operators and multimodal transport operators are also involved in decision making process. Principles of port functioning system reflected in port ownership and port governance with connection to individual subject in port organizational structure are introduced in the theoretical part of the thesis. The following part describes volumes of transported TEU in relation between specific port and Czech and Slovak Republic. The main goal of this thesis is to identify and analyze the key endogenous and exogenous factors which were affecting performance of selected ports. Factors with highest influence on freight forwarder choice are described in detail. Emphasis is placed on the Port of Hamburg because of its ongoing highest performance on the market with highest TEU volumes and also on the Port of Koper because of its growing performance profile.
Contemporary transport trends between Europe and Asia

The aim of this bachelor thesis is analyzing and specifying alternative ways of naval transportation in relation to Europe and Asia. In the introductory chapter are mentioned economic factors which have worldwide impact on direction and volume of cargo. The key part of this thesis deals with identification of road and railway corridors, which should alleviate contemporary overloaded naval transportation. Within the scope of this thesis is also introduced new technology called SkySail, which was designed for cargo ships in order to lower costs connected to fuel consumption and air pollution.
