And examine a connection between certain aspects of masturbation and sexual behaviour in general. Methods: The data have been collected with the help of a specially prepared questionnaire. The questionnaire has been shown on internet pages. The data have been elaborated with the help of the Excel programme and the SPSS statistical programme. Tichotová, Lenka ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Trojan, Ondřej (referee) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee)
Purpose: The objective of the submitted work is to map the up till now less examined area of masturbation behaviour and masturbation fantasies of Czech population. Another objective is to examine relations between certain aspects of masturbation and sexual behaviour in general. Methods: The data was collected through two questionnaires designed for this purpose. The questionnaires were posted on the internet; links to these web pages were spread by e-mails, social networks and links on other web pages. Data was processed in Excel programme and statistical programme SPSS. Research sample consisted of 1339 women and 1186 men, who completed the whole questionnaire. Results: 94.1% of women and 99,7% of men have an experience with masturbation. The average age of the first masturbation is 13 years for women and less than 12 year for men. Men began with masturbation by the age of 25 at the latest, while for women the age of their first experience with onanism ranged between their birth till the age of 60. Masturbation frequency is higher for men than for women and the difference is statistically significant. Masturbation frequency for both sexes negatively correlates with age, meaning that older research participants masturbate less than the younger ones. Both women and men reach orgasm easier through...
Dominance Strategies in Romantic Couples' Interactions
Průšová, Denisa ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Jakubů, Jiří (referee) ; Tichotová, Lenka (referee)
This doctoral thesis combines three major topics of how Romantic Couples verbally and nonverbally Communicate Dominance. We research their behavioral dynamics from Evolutionary and Communication perspectives. Against current psycho-social scientific theories, we do suggest that people that are stereotypically seen as submissive, those using other than direct, active, and aggressive strategies, can achieve their will as well. They simply use behaviors that researchers do not consider as dominant (powerful) behaviors and look for them. We explore the whole spectrum of dominance strategies and their context of where, when, and how they are used. We chose a highly qualitative approach during the data collection and analysis part. We adapted a psychotherapy method for research purposes, our Relationship Drama, to overcome significant limitations that nonverbal and communication research struggles with. Therefore, we could see and further qualitatively analyze real couple's behavior in their real typically appearing conflict interaction. Those are described in the theoretical part of this thesis, in chapter 1. Findings from yet unpublished studies that were presented at conferences and are relevant to specific topics are included as well as one case study illustrating dominance ascription complexity. The...

Sexual Differences in Presence, Realization and Content of Sexual Fantasies
Binter, Jakub ; Klapilová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Tichotová, Lenka (referee)
Large number of researches proven sexual differences in frequency and content of sexual fantasies (SF) in men and women. Results of the recent studies consent on fact that male SF are more frequent, and there are more types of SF compared to female SF. Study that we propose is one of the first to investigate repertoire gaining in both sexes based on different presumptions for each. Among mechanisms we will test are: higher frequency of masturbation among man which gives more space to form larger repertoire, selective attention to external erotic stimuli related to different evolutionary-biological relevance in men and women and gaining the content of SF trough realization of activity that SF later represents. Also we present factor analysis of SF content. Significant difference was found in number of SF in man and woman in absolute number of different types of SF related to objects (F=10,06, p= 0,002) but not activities. Largest impact on amount of SF related to objects was found in age when person had most orgasms - negatively (r = -0,347, p = 0,003), amount of orgasms in that age per week(r = 0,930, p = 0,011), frequency of masturbation (r = 0,776, p = 0,030) and erotica exposure (r = 0,353,p = 0,001). When GLM was aplicated on previously tested affects sex of participant was not significant...
