ZOO DVŮR KRÁLOVÉ - PAVILION OF AFRICAN SAVANA
Tůmová, Tereza ; Vágner, Silvestr (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
My thesis is concerned with design of architecture form representing the context of existing site and in the appropriate manner integrating animal expositions to present to public in the most natural way. The purpose of this project was reaching the understanding of demands between animals and visitors. The designed organic form comes from these needs and also tries to be integated with surrounding area.
French systems technology for natural wastewater treatment in small municipalities
Tůmová, Tereza ; Němcová, Miroslava Pumprlová (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the "French systems" technology, or French solution for natural wastewater treatment. The system receives raw wastewater (without a pre-settling tank) directly into the first filtration stage, the basic principle of which is to process sludge and wastewater in one step, so there is no need to build settling tanks. It is a natural treatment plant which, thanks to its characteristics, could help small municipalities which, for economic reasons, cannot afford expensive mechanical-biological wastewater treatment plants. The thesis includes a clear description of the procedure for sizing the individual facilities according to foreign literature, and a literature search will be carried out within the theoretical introduction to French systems, including operational experience and results from abroad. The theoretical possibilities of using materials other than natural ones for the creation of the filter cartridge of vertical filters will be described. The practical part of the thesis deals with the specific design of a natural wastewater treatment plant using the French system of wastewater treatment for a part of the village of Jablonové in Slovakia. The condition of the design is to meet the emission limits (within the framework of the current legislation) and to ensure the necessary efficiency of wastewater treatment, especially in the pollution indicators BOD5, COD, TSS, TKN.

Relationship between physical activities and memory in older adults
Tůmová, Tereza ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Staňková, Klára (referee)
Title: Relationship between physical activities and memory in older adults Objectives: Estimating the effect of physical activity on memory in seniors older than 60 years. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. The data for the elaboration of the diploma thesis were obtained from the pan-European project Survey of Health Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). In this study, all probands were divided according to gender and further into three groups according to their level of education using the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED - 97). In the data analysis, means and standard deviations were calculated for continuous variables and percentages were calculated for categorical variables. Non-parametric statistical methods were used to test the hypotheses. For more than three categories, the Kruskal-Wallis test was used, followed by post-hoc analysis. The Mann-Whitney U test with Bonferoni correction was used for post-hoc analysis. Testing of memory functions was performed using a ten-word memorization test with immediate and delayed recall. Results: Data from of 47,169 probands older than 60 years were used in the study. A total of 26,034 women and 21,135 men participated. The investigation demonstrated a positive effect of physical and sports activities on the memory...
Popisné sledování sociálního chování skupin morčat
TŮMOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of the work was to find out and analyse social interactions and activities of the guinea pigs (Cavia aperea var. porcellus) during 24 hours. Five groups of short-haired guinea pigs were observed. The guinea pigs were filmed. Next, video records were analysed using ethograms and description of social behaviour between group members. Data record was written down to ethograms every 1 minute for a periof of 24 hours. Observed activities were food intake, resting (including sleep), movement and comfort beahaviour (grooming). Generally, eighteen guinea pigs (in five groups) were observed. Guinea pigs are friendly animals, they create stable and well-organised groups. None aggressive behaviour was observed between group members. Besides small conflicts because of age difference, food or interruption during sleep. The oldest sows were dominant and their place was close to food. It was found out that guinea pigs rested the most (726 minutes, half-day). Food intake made up 590 minutes (41 %) and movement 84 minutes (6 %). More active were younger guinea pigs and boar who was housed with two sows. Comfort behaviour took 41 minutes, guinea pigs also took cares of each other.
Capillary electrophoretic separation and structure-mobility relationship study of cyclic antimicrobial peptides
Tůmová, Tereza ; Monincová, Lenka ; Čeřovský, Václav ; Kašička, Václav
Capillary electrophoresis (CE) has been employed for qualitative and quantitative analysis, separation and physicochemical characterization of antimicrobial peptides isolated from the venom of eusocial bee Lassioglossum laticeps. From the CE experiments at various pH, the important physico-chemical parameters of analyzed peptides, effective mobilities and acidity constants were determined and the structure-mobility relationships of peptides with variable intramolecular cyclization of their molecules were investigated.

External Migration Policy of the European Union in Relationships With Third World Countries - Opportunities and Risks
Tůmová, Tereza ; Vostrovská, Zdenka (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
Diploma thesis focuses on migration policy in the European Union in the field of human migration flows from third world countries. The main aim of this thesis is to define global approach to theories of migration and analyze the development of external migration policies of The European Union since 1985 to the present when massive migration flows of people from third world countries hit Europe. Another aim is to evaluate consequences, opportunities and risks for destination countries which can be affected by the international migration. These chapters also introduce the legislative framework of migration policies in the European Union and they introduce security strategies and organizations that are involved in the management of migration flows to the European Union. Second part of this thesis analyses a massive migration flows to EU region after year 2011 and this part also identifies changes in migration policy as a response to this unexpected situation. Another aim is to confirm or disprove the hypotheses, whether migratory flows are the main driver in European population growth and whether there are any changes in the security issues across whole European region. The thesis follows the datasets from European Commission, Eurostat, Europol and from another organizations collecting information on key statistics in the EU. On the basis of the acquired data, the hypotheses about the existence of a correlation between the immigration, population growth and changes in the security field were confirmed.
Important species under the Protection CITES: tiger (Panthera tigris)
TŮMOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis deals with the available data processing on the quantity of tiger population in the wild, biology, threats and protection (especially CITES and WWF). Next, the thesis is focused on legal and illegal trade in years 1975-2013 using CITES Trade Database. The results are evaluated within commodities, purpose of trade, source of specimens and export/import. It was found out that the most frequent purpose of trade is "commercial" and the source of specimens is "wild". The most traded commodity were "bodies and their parts". The main exporters were China and Russia and the main importers were Japan and the USA. China, Vietnam and South Korea were involved in illegal trade the most. There are as few as 3 200 tigers left in the wild and about 5 000 tigers are kept in captivity in the USA.
Analysis and characterization of antimicrobial peptides by capillary electromigration methods
Tůmová, Tereza ; Monincová, Lenka ; Čeřovský, Václav ; Kašička, Václav
High-performance capillary electromigration methods (zone electrophoresis, affinity electrophoresis, isotachophoresis and micellar electrokinetic chromatography) have been applied to analysis and physicochemical characterization of halictines – antimicrobial peptides isolated from the bee Halictus sexcinctus.
