Evolution Management in NoSQL Document Databases
Vavrek, Michal ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
NoSQL databases are widely used for many applications as a technology for data storage, and their usage and popularity rises. The first aim of the thesis is to research the existing approaches and technologies for schema evolution in NoSQL databases. Next, we introduce an approach for schema evolution in multi-model databases with a unified interface for the most common data models. The proposed approach is easy to use and covers the common migration scenarios. We have also implemented a prototype, optimized its read/write operations, and demonstrated its properties on real-world data. 1
Legacy in law of succession
Svoboda, Martin ; Frinta, Ondřej (referee)
The present thesis discusses the legislation of an ancient and new-old institute of inheritance law, legacy. Legacy was in the Czech legal environment in the 60's of the last century as a traditional institute of inheritance law, allowing the testator wide opportunities of acquiring his property mortis causa. With the effectiveness of the Civil Code No. 40/1964 Coll., that released its regulation, completely disappeared from the public's legal awareness. The topic of the legacy became recurrent in connection with the recodification of private law, because adoption of Civil Code No. 89/2012 Coll. caused a return of legacy to the Czech law. The specificity of the legacy is its disruption with universal succession, which is otherwise typical for inheritance law. The main objective of the thesis is to acquaint the reader with the legacy and define its position in the legal environment. For the interpretation is chosen a procedure that goes from general to specific, which corresponds to the content layout of the thesis. The first part of the thesis deals with an analysis of the legacy as a whole and its differentiation from classical inheritance as well as from the fideikomis as a command and donation in a case of death, with which it is easily interchangeable. This is followed by a historical...
The effect of physical properties of building materials in buildings in low-energy construction
Svoboda, Martin ; Čermák, Jan (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The theme of the diploma thesis is the study of physical properties of various building materials in buildings in low-energy construction. The work is mainly focused on the influence of the thermal accumulation properties of building materials used in buildings in order to achieve low energy consumption for heating. The thesis compares the energy characteristics of five different constructional material variants of the house.
Water management infrastructure
Svoboda, Martin ; Krbová, Jana (advisor) ; Parkán, Josef (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the forms of ownership of the water supply infrastructure in terms of its operation, the number of operators and the impact assessment on the drinking water price for end customers. All this with a view to assessing whether it is appropriate to ensure the operation with private entities or to have municipalities operate the water management infrastructure separately. The analysis unambiguously confirms that the current number of owners and operators exceeding 9 thousand companies is unnecessarily harmful to the effective management of this area. Quantitative research shows that only 52 companies provide a full 97% of the volume of invoiced water. At the same time, economic analysis proves that the efficiency of the economy is not determined by ownership but by effective management. The result of this work is the confirmation that the water price is primarily influenced by the place of drinking water supply, long-term sustainable development of the water supply infrastructure area and effective management of an adequate number of companies.

XML Data Editor with the Support of XML Schema Inference
Němec, Michal ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The goal of this thesis is creation of an XML data editor. The editor contains functionality to simplify creation of syntactically and semantically correct XML documents. The main feature of the editor is automatic inference of XML schema for a set of input XML documents. User may edit XML data by either a text view or a tree view. It is possible to check well-formedness and validity of edited XML data. There is a code completion - overview of feasible elements on given level - feature in the text view available. Implemented solution facilitates an easy extension of its main feature - schema inference. The program is written in C# programming language and is designed for use on Microsoft Windows operating systems. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Optimization of Processing of Data Files in System DIRAC
Adam, Martin ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
DIRAC is a software framework for distributed computing providing a complete solution to one (or more) user community requiring access to distributed resources. In this thesis the DIRAC File Catalog (DFC) is extended by adding a DatasetManager module, thus adding support for datasets based on metadata queries. To improve the metaquery handling in the code, a new class MetaQuery was implemented that bundles the handling methods and adds normalization and optimization of the user input. The metaquery language was extended enabling logical operators and parenthesis. In the second part of the thesis the hypothesis that connecting the metadata part of the DIRAC File Catalog to a NoSQL database could improve metaquery performance is evaluated. Several databases are tested and the best performing one is then connected via an interface module to the DFC. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Automatic Generation of Synthetic XML Documents
Betík, Roman ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to research the current possibilities and limitations of automatic generation of synthetic XML and JSON documents used in the area of Big Data. The first part of the work discusses the properties of the most used XML data generators, Big Data and JSON generators and compares them. The next part of the thesis proposes an algorithm for data generation of semistructured data. The main focus of the algorithm is on the parallel execution of the generation process while preserving the ability to control the contents of the generated documents. The data generator can also use samples of real data in the generation of the synthetic data and is also capable of automatic creation of simple references between JSON documents. The last part of the thesis provides the results of experiments with the data generator exploited for the purpose of testing database MongoDB, describes its added value and compares it to other solutions. Analysis of Real-World XML Queries
Hlísta, Peter ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to gather and analyze the real-world XQuery programs. The data gathering process is usually performed using the crawler. Part of the thesis was to analyze different crawlers and to choose the most suitable one. The crawler was then modified, so it would not overload servers, gather the right data and be able to pause. Before main gathering two problems had to be solved - where to start the gathering and how long it will take. After the data were gathered, they were cleaned, corrected and validated. The subject of the analysis was usage of the XQuery language and its grammar symbols. We also analyzed the XML documents used by XQuery programs and outputs from the XQuery programs. The main contribution of this thesis is the amount of the gathered data (in comparison with other sources), as well as gathering XML documents which are being queried, using Analyzer for analyzing the real-world XQuery programs and running this real-world XQuery programs over gathered XML documents.
