This master thesis focuses on the typology of researches that public service broadcaster Czech television uses to analyse audience feedback - measurement of ratings, contentment and public service. The thesis describes history of TV audience researches from beginnings to the present in Czechoslovakia and the Czech republic as well as abroad. It also mentions problems that the aspiration for perfection of measurement brings. This thesis also addresses the functioning of Czech TV's Research and analysis department and brings original research focused on the influence of survey results over the scheduling of ČT24 programme. The thesis further includes interviews with Renata Týmová, chief of Research and analysis department, and Zdeněk Šámal, manager of news and sports department.

This bachelor essay investigates how the most important Czech daily newspapers inform about regional affairs in Prague. The Mlada fronta DNES daily dedicates a few pages of every edition to local news. Every month it also publishes a stand-alone supplement in the capital and six times a year a luxurious life-style magazine. The Hospodarske noviny daily on the other hand reports more from Prague than about Prague, claims the editor-in-chief Petr Sabata, at least since the regional supplement has been discontinued. One of the other newspapers included in this research is Pravo, which dedicates a double-page every day to local news. Then there are Blesk, where the reader can find one or two pages of local news and the Prazsky denik newspaper. In the first chapter I introduce the mentioned newspapers. In the second chapter, I analyze the content of the dailies in a selected week. I conclude that the most news about Prague are brought by Prazsky denik and Mlada fronta DNES. This result is confirmed by the subsequent analysis of how each of the dailies reports about selected events in Prague in 2012.
