Media response of the company Knižní klub (1992-2018)

The diploma theses named The media response of the company Knižní klub (1992-2018) examines how had the Czech media refered about the publishing house Knižní klub. In the first part of this theses can be found the description of the development of the book market and also of the publishing market throughout the years, starting with the progress of the book printing followed by the description of the historical phases that had impact on the book market. The second part of the diploma theses is dealing with the company Knižní klub and everything related to that. The following chapter describes all the companies that had ever owned the company Knižní klub during the time it has been active on the Czech market. The analysis itself is divided into two big chapters accoring to the time periods. The first chapter analyses chosen printed media that had been active during the years from 1992 to 2013. The second chapter is examining the medialization of the company Knižní klub within the years 2014 to 2019 and for the analysis of the medialization had been used not only printed media but also online media as their influence grew with time. A quantitative analysis has been used to get the results of the analysis in this second chapter.
The attitude of Czech political parties on the candidature of their members at the presidential elections

This bachelor thesis deals with the attitude of czech political parties to the candidature of their members on the office of the Czech president. The analysis involves both direct presidential elections that took place in 2013 and 2018. The main focus is put on the candidates that conduct themselves on behalf of the czech political parties. In the past there has been the opinion that president should be above the political parties and this thesis analyzes what is the opinion of the political parties and why do they take this attitude. The support or the attitude of the political parties is analyzed in media news and in political parties declarations. The analysis also deals with the question whether political parties have supported the candidate only verbaly or if they provided some other kind of support, such as financial or other, as well. This thesis also contains the interviews with the candidates or with the members or with the chairmen of the political parties. These interviews deal with the question whether political parties should nominate their members into the presidential elections or not. One of the part of this thesis is also about the general background of the election and about the conditions that the candidates are subjected to.
The analysis and comparison of the media response on the political campaigns of Miloš Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg prior to presidential election in 2013

This bachelor thesis deals with a media response to a presidential campaigns of Miloš Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg as they were the two candidates of the second round in presidential elections. This media response is analysed in newspapers Mladá fronta Dnes, Hospodářské noviny, Lidové noviny, Právo and on internet portals iDnes, iHned, lidovky.cz. This presidential election took place in 2013 and it was historicaly the first presidential election when inhabitants of the Czech republic elected the president directly and that is why not only the selected media but also society took interest in such an occasion. With a certain time distance, this bachelor thesis rates how did media responded on the presidential campaigns of the candidates of the second round of this election and if it was more the printed media or the online reported about this presidential election. Another goal of this thesis is to find out whether any of those two candidates used a negative campaing against his oponent. The theoretical part deals with the terms used in the thesis, with the presidential election itself with biography of the candidates and of course with the media.
