The concept of madness in Cervantes' and Shakespeare's works

The intent of this paper is to analyze the concept of madness in Cervantes' and Shakespeare's works. The thesis deals with the nature of the characters similarities among both authors, their characters and roles, particularly in the works of El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha and Hamlet. The point is to compare similarities in the characters of Don Quixote and Hamlet associated with the concept of madness and influence of the Renaissance and carnival concept of the world in these works.

The aim of this Master's thesis is the characteristic of selected discourse markers. Its core is a case study based on a contrastive analysis of specific markers (called adversative discourse markers or counter-argumentative connectors) on the parallel corpus InterCorp and single- lingual corpus CORPES XXI and identifies their frequency, characteristics and typology of czech translations. The initial part of the thesis is theoretical. In its introduction is generally defined the concept of a discourse marker and the related terms of a connector and dialogue. Attention is also paid to the theory of argumentation. Another chapter of the theoretical part deals with problems of markers, their classification and different theoretical approaches of various authors.
