This thesis "LGBT+ topics as curricula in foreign language education in the Czech schools" deals with the issue of integrating LGBT+ and gender-related topics into foreign language teaching. This thesis builds on previous research in the field of LGBT+ in Czech schools. Through a qualitative study in the form of semi-structured interviews with foreign language teachers in Czech primary and secondary schools, answers are sought to the questions of how are LGBT+ and gender topics integrated into foreign language teaching and how are these topics dealt with in foreign language classes. Teachers' perspectives on the integration of these topics into language teaching and possible problems that may arise when integrating these topics into language teaching are also researched. In the theoretical part of the thesis I deal with basic facts and terminology related to the issue of sexuality and the issue of the teaching profession. In the practical part, qualitative research is carried out in the form of interviews with nine informants. Based on the thematic analysis it was found that homosexual teachers are more open with their sexual orientation and encounter manifestations of homophobia rather rarely. Homosexual teachers are aware of the fact that they can openly alleviate the occurrence of homophobia among students and at the same time directly or indirectly support students who are facing coming out themselves. However, school management plays a major role in openness, along with...
