Migration and Refactorization of Netfox Detective for .NET 5
Pokorný, Šimon ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
Every second, there are many attempts to attack various entities on the Internet. This is why high-quality, fast, and up-to-date tools are needed to easily analyze network traffic. Netfox Detective is one of such tools. Specifically, it is used for forensic analysis of network communication. The aim of this work is to migrate Netfox Detective to the newest version of .NET platform (.NET 5), including refactoring with respect to user experience and correct use of software design patterns. This thesis deals not only with the migration itself, but is listing common mistakes programmers make along with possible solutions to these mistakes. The chapters contain a detailed decision log that can help guide other developers to better solutions. Furthermore, the work deals with analysis and creation of unit tests and with correct use of tools for CI/CD. Fully migrated project is not the only output of this thesis. A development environment for the project has been prepared in GitLab and it is ready to be used.
Condensing steam turbine for a steel plant
Pokorný, Šimon ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
Objective of the master’s thesis is the thermodynamic design of condensing steam turbine for steelworks place on frame. Steam turbine can be operated with one controlled extraction point from 0t/h to 115 t/h at terminal power 60 MWe and speed of 3 000 per minute. The entered parameters are the admission states of steam at the inlet to the steam turbine, required properties of steam in the process extraction point and temperature of cooling water with flow in water cooled condenser. At the beginning of design of the steam turbine is thermal scheme, defining state of steam in significant places and predetermined mass flow through condensing steam turbine. The following is the design of two regulatory stages with equal pressure blades. First is for High pressure stepped section and the second is for low pressure stepped section. The solution of stepped section is divided into two chapters. The first deals with preliminary determination of the geometry and the number of stages, the second is main part of the whole thermodynamics design of a condensing steam turbine. Stepped section is solved with over pressure blading set on the drum rotor. The calculation is divided into low pressure stepped section for design mode with zero process extraction point and high pressure stepped section, which is designed for off taking mode. Steam turbine is consisted of 6 cones about 32 stages. Thermodynamics efficiency in off taking mode is 86,1 % and mass flow 71,94 kg/s, in condensing mode 83,4 %, respectively 53,01 kg/s. Part of design is strength check of blades, critical speed check and design of compensating piston with the system of labyrinth glands and bearings. Thesis is supplemented by operating characteristics and longitudinal section of condensing steam turbine.

Climate impact on archaeological monuments in Prague Castle
Pokorný, Šimon ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kozlovcev, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the question of the influence of climate on archaeological monuments beneath the pavement of the III. courtyard of Prague Castle. The complex archaeological site is threatened by the effects of several climatic factors, especially water and temperature changes, which cause weathering processes, and the historical building material in this area is subsequently degraded. The theoretical part of this thesis first deals with the study of historical building materials in the excavation area, with a focus on marlstone and clay slate, which are most susceptible to various types of weathering. Subsequently, degradation processes that affect the state of the present material are discussed, particularly processes related to water penetration through the material, chemical weathering caused by salt crystallization, and swelling of clay minerals, a process that often occurs in clay slate. The last chapter of the theoretical part outlines the impact of future climate change on the action of these processes. The practical part of this thesis focuses on research into frost and salt weathering cycles, particularly the determination of the frequency of cycles in one year of continuous measurement. Moisture and temperature values over time from sensors that are evenly distributed throughout...
Facial attractiveness and skin color and texture
Kolingerová, Agáta ; Pátková, Žaneta (advisor) ; Pokorný, Šimon (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is, in the form of a literature review and critical evaluation, to summarize the available findings from scientific research on the influence of skin color and texture on facial attractiveness. The first part briefly introduces some of the evolutionary perspectives on attractiveness and then the aspects primarily studied in the past that affect facial attractiveness, i.e., symmetry, averageness and sexually dimorphic features. The main section of this thesis is devoted to other important traits affecting facial attractiveness, that is, skin color and texture. Topics discussed include individual skin color traits (i.e., redness, yellowness, lightness and homogeneity of color), while this thesis tries to describe their association with actual health or physical condition. The influence of culture and gender on the perception of these traits is also included. Regarding skin texture, the topics of acne, scars, radiance and wrinkles and their effect on perceived attractiveness are discussed. Similarly to color traits, potential influences of culture and gender are also presented. Keywords attractiveness, color, texture, skin, perception, health
Human mate preference of minority phenotypes: a case of freqency dependent sexual selection
Pokorný, Šimon ; Kleisner, Karel (advisor) ; Třebický, Vít (referee)
Rare fenotype preference, a distinct type of sexual selection, has been studied on various species of Drosophilla and other invertebrates. There are independent clues, that a similar strategy could take part in mating among humans. This study summarizes related literature and discusses a possible role of minority type preference in maintaining a high value of hair and eye color variability and that of other facial characteristics in european population.
The relationship between facial morphology and physical strength: Testing of the Other-Race effect hypothesis
Klusáčková, Tereza ; Třebický, Vít (advisor) ; Pokorný, Šimon (referee)
Existing evidence shows people are able to attribute an individual's behavioural characteristics based on their facial features with a certain level of accuracy; one such characteristic is the perception of physical strength in potential opponents within the male intersexual competition. Physical strength seems be assessed upon the level of masculine facial features development. However, attributions may be influenced by other factors - namely personality traits of the evaluator or the so-called Other-race effect. In this study portrait photographs of men from Europe and Africa were rated by a group of European evaluators on a perceived physical strength. The aim of this study was to assess the link between attributed physical strength, actual physical strength (grip strength) and facial morphology described by relative facial width (fWHR) the Index of Masculinity (potential effects of age, body weight and height on said variables were controlled for). The use of stimuli of different ethnic origin enabled us to test the accuracy of physical strength attributions and actual physical strength in context to the Other-race effect hypothesis. According to its wording people tend to attribute characteristics with higher accuracy to individuals, who belong to the same population, or with whom they are...
The association between facial perceived trustworthiness and socio-economic status: cross-cultural perspective
Provazníková, Šárka ; Pokorný, Šimon (advisor) ; Fiala, Vojtěch (referee)
When meeting with a stranger, there is an immediate perception of trustworthiness. Perception and trustworthiness building is key in economic and social relations. This thesis deals with the relationship between trustworthiness and socio-economic status. During the perception of facial trustworthiness, people also evaluate masculine or childlike features. These facial characteristics influence the selection of senior company managers. An important topic is attractiveness. In addition to partner selection, it also affects professional and academic success. Part of the paper also deals with the cross-cultural aspect. In particular with the relationship between the perceived trustworthiness of African Americans and the socio-economic status. Keywords: facial perception, trustworthiness, status, cross-cultural perspective
