The bachelor thesis discusses how the biological children of foster parents accept their new foster siblings and fostering of their parents from the view of the foster parents. The aim of this work is to find out if and how the biological children accept their new foster siblings, what are their relationships like, what are the problematic aspects of these relationships and how to prevent them.
Dilemmas of social workers during assessing of educational methods in families with lower elementary school age children

The diploma thesis named "Dilemmas of social workers during assessing of educational methods in families with lower elementary school age children". The goal of the thesis is find to the answer: "Which dilemmas deal social workers during assessing of educational methods in families with lower elementary school age children? ". The theoretical part of this thesis describes the social work with families, its development and dilemmas that each can bring social work. It also deals with the family and its development. It also focuses on inadequate educational styles in the family that may affect child development. The practical part is focused on the process of assessing families. Thanks to the semi- structured interviews with social workers are trying to map this difficult process and dilemmas that social workers in this work can be experienced.
Causes of Placing Children in Institutions for Children requiring Immediate Assistance

(in English) This bachelor thesis is devoted to the causes of placement of children in facilities for immediate assistance. It emphasizes the essential importance of family and family life on child development, and defines and evaluates the family function. It also addresses the most frequent causes of placement of children in facilities for immediate assistance and assesses the impact on children's development. The main practical section focuses on an analysis of the causes of placement of children in the facility for immediate assistance "Fond ohrožených dětí" from 2008 to 2014. The thesis concludes with a comparison of causes at the regional level.
An evaluation of social workers in the Department of Social and Legal Protection for Children from the perspective of fathers and mothers in a situation of divorce

This work is focused on the interaction between social workers and parents of children who are under the control of the Department of Social and Legal Protection for Children (OSPOD) due to situations of parental relationship breakdown. The object of the work is an analysis of complaints made by fathers and mothers. The aim is to develop recommendations which will help social workers improve problematic relationships with parents and result in increased cooperation towards common goals. The work is divided into two parts. Firstly, a general part based on the historical context of social and legal protection of children, important basic information about OSPOD, competencies, rights and obligations of social workers. The divorce and subjects who are connected with that are also mentioned. Secondly, a practical part presenting the analysis of online complaints from internet discussion forums. These complaints are categorized and compared between fathers and mothers. Recommendations for social workers are based on the complaints' analysis, on interviews with social workers speaking about methods used in OSPOD and on comments made by parents who were given space to suggest their own comments about changes they would like to see in the behaviour of social workers. The influence of education on the role of mediator performance

(in English): This diploma thesis deals with the issue of alternative dispute resolution, mediation in non- criminal matters. The mediation is estabilished in the Act on Mediation and amending certain other acts (the Act on Mediation) No. 202/2012 Coll. in the Legal Order of the Czech Republic, that is the main the aspect in this thesis. This actual topic, (the issue is that it is relatively a new law, which came into effect in September 2012), deals with the personality and educational attainment of registered mediators, particulary prerequisite for the performance of the profession of a registered mediator due to the mentioned law and it examines and compares effeciency in the mediators' exams in the Czech Bar Association and the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic according to the Ordinance No. 277/2012 Coll., about the trials and rewards of mediator. The main goal of this diploma thesis is to find out by means of quantitative research if there is a difference between registered mediators with different previous university education and how it shows in mediation process. The teoretical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to description of the mediation as an alternative dispute resolution, defining the role and duties of mediators and the system of education of mediators.
Respit service for foster carers

The broad aim of this thesis is to consider the issues of foster care, specifically a foster parents' need for holidays. The aim is to discuss why legislation regarding holidays for foster parents was needed and to see what options are available for foster parents in the Pardubice region. The work first describes the above considerations, then the practical element, offering a view of the three parties working in this field. Research was conducted to examine foster parent's views on the ways in which both government and non-governmental organizations work. Based on the research conducted it is possible to understand the views of foster parents and their legal right to holiday and to look at the work of social-legal protection of children in this area and find out what respite services and education are offered by NGOs in the Pardubice region. Educational Needs of Social Divisions' Workers on Municipalities in Former Česká Lípa District

The diploma thesis is focused on the matter of continuing education of social department workers in municipalities in former Česká Lípa district. Specifically, it looks at what the educational needs in this area, workers have. The theoretical part is focused on the terminology. Firstly, it devotes to the characteristic of the former Česká Lípa district from the perspective of social work performed by the workers of municipalities. It also discusses the continuing education of workers and training needs analysis. This part also describes the burnout syndrome that is related to a supervision which is also a part of this thesis. The practical part is focused on the social workers' needs of continuing education. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out which of the skills and knowledge for workers are the most needed. In the research, there was used the methodology of quantitative analysis via halfstructured questionnaires and the following structured interviews in order to gain the necessary qualitative data. The partial goals are to find out if the willingness of workers to participate on continuing education has impact on the burnout syndrome, or how burnout syndrome is related to participation in the supervision.

Elementary school children at risk of social exclusion and a plan to help them

The objective of this thesis is to address issues of elementary school children who are at risk of social exclusion. At the same time it focuses on different means of searching methods as well as the ways of the individual help. The main themes are generally defined in this paper. The concept of the risk of a social exclusion is newly described for this target group together with other social, mental and pedagogical consequences. The practical part analyzes the selection of methods and describes the ways to search for the endangered children. Essentially, I have developed the case studies with an individual approach to help particular children. In conclusion, the thesis identifies the necessity of social aid in the Czech education system and the factual obstacles. The Culture of OSPOD Departments and the Conditions for Coping with Workload

The bachelor's thesis " The Culture of the Child Protection Unit and the Conditions for Coping with Workload" deals with working conditions at child protection unit, describes specific characteristics of the work. The thesis determines a role of head of the department focusing its essential influence on local working environment. Using the management theory the thesis specifies fundamental tactics to create stimulating surroundings with enough support and assistance in coping with overburden - often coupled with these departments. The research summarizes examples from common situations at child protection unit into concrete statements that reflect ways of executives to build good working environment for the workers - building strong relationships, considering periodic supervisions and atmosphere of trust, encouragement and respect.
