Impactor for fine particle collection
Paulíková, Kateřina ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis provides an overview of fine particles contained in the air and possibilities for their analysis, measurement and capture. In the beginning, the fine particle's size and origin is described. Then, the influence of fine particles on human health is stated. Next, methods of air analysis and fine particle's measurement are presented. Legislation for emissions and immissions in the Czech Republic is summarized. Finally the selected types of impactors are introduced. The practical part consists of three chapters. First chapter contains the fundamental calculation procedure and its subsequent refinement. In the following part the comparison of the calculation procedure with the parameters of the commercial impactor is provided. Lastly, the design of the impactor is created for the specified parameters using the developed calculation procedure.
Heat recovery from waste water
Paulíková, Kateřina ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The aim of the Bachelor’s Thesis is to discuss the view of wastewater as a source of thermal energy. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter aims to acquaint with the issue of wastewater. The analysis of systems for heat recovery from wastewater is summarized in the following chapter. Also there is a focus on systems installed directly at the generation of wastewater, inserted into the sewerage pipes and finally the creation of thermal energy in wastewater treatment plants. All mentioned systems are built to be economical and ecological efficient as possible. Finally, the last chapter includes an overall evaluation of the systems.

Prescribing of potentially inappropriate medications in the old age - prevalence in published studies
Paulíková, Kateřina ; Fialová, Daniela (advisor) ; Doseděl, Martin (referee)
Introduction: Proportion of seniors in the world population is growing and substantial attention is given to population aging worldwide. Geriatric patients present very heterogenous group of patients with high interindividual differences. With increasing age number of chronic and degenerative disorders increases, drug consumption raises and consequently also polypharmacy. The more medications a senior consume, the higher probability of prescription of high-risk medications he/she has. With the aim to rationalize drug prescribing in geriatric patients, significant number of explicit criteria of medications/medication procedures potentially inappropriate in older age has been published. The aim of this diploma thesis was to evaluate prevalence of potentially inappropriate prescribing in geriatric population in studies published between 1991 and 2015 years and to further evaluate the most frequently prescribed potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) in these studies. Methods: Detailed literature search has been conducted with the use of PubMed and Web of Science databases. Studies dealing with potentially inappropriate prescribing that have been published from 1st January 1991 to 31st December 2015 were included. Data from scientific articles were summarized in the first part of the diploma...
