Adolescents' concepts about ideal male appearance

This bachelor thesis deals with the adolescents' concepts about ideal male appearance. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part, I focused on the presentation and description of the different concepts and areas that are relate to the topic. In the first chapter I dealt with the developmental period of adolescence, where I first characterized this period and subsequently described the individual changes that adolescents are going through. The next chapter was devoted to the topic of gender, where I define and describe the basic concepts of gender issues and I closer focused on masculinity and masculine behavior. Subsequently, I focused on the classroom as on the respondents' environment, in which my research was originated. The last chapter my theoretical part was devoted to the issues of appearance and the ideal of beauty, where I first tried to describe the general trend of ideal beauty and subsequently I focused on the ideal of male beauty. In the empirical part I analyzed the results of my research, which was consisted of three primary methods - observation, questionnaire and Repertory grid. Analysis of the risks of the work of dispatchers of the Emergency care Areíon for elderly people

The thesis deals with the analysis of the risks of the work of dispatchers of the Emergency care Areión (in czech: Tísňová péče Aerión = TPA) for the elderly people. The aim was to find out what their dispatchers consider to be burdensome and demanding and what, on the contrary, helps them in emergency situations. With the help of idiographic research with emergence, which I analyzed with using the principle of the grounder theory, I tried to answer by the interviews with five respondents how TPA dispatchers perceive their work and workload. Whether they feel competent to communicate and deal with people in crisis and perceive their competencies. What are all the factors and situations in the work, which are burdensome and demanding for the dispatchers and how they deal with such a burden. And finally, what could improve the overall quality of TPA work from the point of view of dispatchers. In the theoretical part I deal with issues of aging and elderly as a target group of TPA social service. Next to the service itself; and the techniques of conducting crisis calls on emergency lines and telephone crisis intervention methods used on trust lines, as two types of work that are most closely resemble to the TPA social service. Under rule of consumerism

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zamyšlení nad konzumní společností. Teoretická část nám pomohla nastínit určité základní aspekty tohoto typu společnosti, který se postupně vyvíjel od průmyslové revoluce z masové společnosti. Empirický výzkum nám byl vzácným přínosem, protože jsme mohli na malém vzorku populace dvou společností pozorovat a porovnat zvyky a chování spotřebitelů, stejně tak jako jejich názory a pocity jakožto přímých účastníků v konzumním světě. Naším výzkumem jsme dokázali pouze dvě z počátečních tří hypotéz. Došli jsme k následujícím závěrům: (1) ženy mají vyšší tendenci ke spotřebnímu chování než muži, (2) český konzumní rozkvět se neukázal v zásadě nijak rozdílným od daleko "starší" a "vyspělejší" zkušenosti s konzumem ve Švýcarsku, (3) lidé se z velké části stále necítí být ovlivňováni reklamou. Jsem si vědoma skutečnosti, že rozsah této práce neumožňuje do zpracovávané problematiky proniknout hlouběji, nicméně v teoretické části práce jsem odkryla širokou škálu teorií, analýz a dohadů o módě, nakupování a reklamě jako základních stavebních kamenů konzumerizmu. Tato témata byla rozpracována v empirické části naší práce. Výzkumu se zúčastnil pouze omezený vzorek respondentů, a není tudíž možné závěry výzkumu generalizovat na celou společnost.
