Document Topic Classification
Oravec, Jakub ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with automatic document topic classification and provides a brief introduction to this area of research. The first part contains summary of basic techniques used in natural language processing with emphasis on text classification methods. The next part describes concept and implementation of system for automatic document topic classification. The last part contains information about testing of created system including composition of testing set and standard metrics description.
Heating with renewable energy sources
Oravec, Jakub ; Vyhlídalová, Karolína (referee) ; Horák, Petr (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design heating sytem and hot water preparation system in apartment building with use of renewable energy sources. Theoretical part is focused on solar thermal collectors and their technical attributes. Practical part contains design of heating system and design of domestic hot water preparation system. Transport of heating water is provided by two pipe heating system with forced water circulation. Pellet boiler is usead as a heat source and is also usead as a primary heat source for hot water preparation. At the same time secondary domestic hot water prepartion system was designed through the use of solar collectors.
Dynamics of heating surfaces behavior
Oravec, Jakub ; Gebauer, Günter (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the research of dynamics of selected heating surfaces behavior. The aim of the thesis is to determine the dynamics of heating and cooling and to determine the effect of these characteristics on energy consumption of the building. The project part deals with the design of a heating solution for a residential building in three variants. An Energetic simulation is made for the designed variants, that compares the consumption of thermal energy during one year. The next simulation research the dynamics of selected large-scale heating surfaces. For each construction, nonstationary models of heating up and cooling were made, which are compared in terms of the thermal inertia.
Embedded System Based on Atmel ARM
Oravec, Jakub ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with design of simple embedded system based on Atmel ARM. There are Atmel's products covering this market segment reviewed in the first part, including the description of a couple of devices. The second part is focused on the aim specification, selection of components, their interconnection, power-supply requirements, price considerations and the design itself. The next chapter describes testing and application of the platform. The conclusion presents the current state of the project and deals with the successive progress.
Mathematical Models for Analytical Calculation of Energypiles
Oravec, Jakub ; Šikula, Ondřej
A current trend is to reduce the energy performance of buildings by using alternative sources for heating and cooling. One of the most promising, and so far unprecedented sources of heating and cooling, is the use of energy from the earth using the thermally-activated foundation piles of a building, the so-called energy piles. The paper deals with an overview and comparison of computer-aided analytical models of energy piles. The individual analytical models are compared (categorized) from the point of view of their physical complexity, computational costs, and thus their usability for the purpose of optimizing energy-pile equipment or assessing the long-term energy efficiency of an energy pile field. Selected mathematical models were algorithmized, and the results obtained were compared with a more robust numerical solution performed using CalA 4 software.

Application of behavioural economics on pricing page.
Oravec, Jakub ; Stříteský, Václav (advisor) ; Lorenc, Václav (referee)
This paper discuses design and optimization of the price lists on the web-sites, using the knowledge acquired from the field of behavioural economics. To support the main goal of this paper, the quantitative experiment was conducted. This experiment was conducted through the web-site, where two different types of prices, set by application of a knowledge from behavioural economics and architecture of a choice were tested. To evaluate the data obtained, the descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing and revenue impact analysis have been used. Applying the data obtained as a result of the experiment, it has been found that different factors can influence the decision-making process and preferences of an individual deciding between different types of services. This testing proved the relation between the price list displayed and the choice of a subject of this experiment. At the same time, it was found that by using the best suitable design architecture of the online price list and by applying knowledge from the behavioural sciences, it is possible to positively influence the sale revenue and conversion of the chosen variant, with relatively low implementation costs, as it is demonstrated on the example of Czech market.
