Multi-storey Wooden Building

Master’s thesis deals with complete project documentation of newly built object of library and mediatheque located on the site in České Budějovice. It is a three-storey building divided into three parts, one-storey, two-storey and three-storey. It is partly basement. The underground part is devoted to main storage spaces of library services, management offices and social facilities for staff (toilets, changing rooms, washrooms). This part of the building has own entrance for employees. In the 1st floor is located the main library area along with exhibition spaces and the main entrance for visitors with self service cloakroom. In the 2nd floor are designed library spaces for visually impaired persons with fund of audio books, CDs and DVDs, a lecture hall with a projector and own kitchen and space for reading magazines and periodicals. From this floor is possible access to the outdoor terrace, which has own terrace furniture store nearby. In the 3rd floor is located a literary café with its own facilities. In each floor are also designed sanitary facilities for use by persons with limited ability of movement and orientation. All floors are connected by stairs and passenger lifts. In terms of construction, the building is designed as a frame, in the underground parts made of reinforced concrete, the overhead of glued laminated timber elements. The ceiling structure designed over the underground floor is monolithic reinforced concrete slab. The ceilings in the upper part are designed as a wooden beamed made of the glued laminated timber elements. The building has a pent roof created by wooden trusses assembled with punched metal plate fasteners. The foundations are designed as belts and footings. The study, detailed documentation, thermal-technical evaluation of selected structures and fire safety of the building are processed. For processing of the thesis were used software AutoCAD 2010, Teplo 2011, Area 2011, Ztráty 2011 and Fire NX 802 PRO.
Accommodation establishments and possibilities of distribution focusing on OTAs

The aim of this thesis is to explain the importance of the internet and online travel agencies as one of the most important parts in the distribution of accommodation. The thesis includes a demonstration of cooperation between a particular accommodation establishment and its OTAs, which are also analysed. In conclusion, are suggested measures leading to optimize the distribution.
Chemerin and omentin: relationship to body weight and cardiometabolic risk in Czech adolescents

Epidemic of obesity is dangerous because of cardiometabolic health risks associated with it. The growing worldwide prevalence of obesity, even in pediatric population, goes hand in hand with efforts for finding new ways of treatment. Therapy with hormones of adipose tissue, adipokines, is one of the considered options. Chemerin and omentin are promising candidates for obesity treatment. Not many researches regarding adipokines and obese pediatric patients were published and the data from omentin researches are controversial. The aim of this diploma thesis is investigation of chemerin and omentin level differences between slim and obese Czech adolescents. Additionally, if hormone levels of adipokines correlate with observed anthropometric and biochemical parameters. Next, if chemerin and omentin levels differ with respect to diagnostic methods of metabolic syndrome. In addition, if these hormone levels change depending on weight reduction. Together 122 obese (BMI ≥ 97. percentile) and 162 slim (BMI 25.-75. percentile) girls and boys aged from 13,0 to 17,9 years were studied. Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) - new knowledge

Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is currently the most common cause of children's death up to their age of one in developed countries. It is a mysterious death whilst parents put a healthy baby into the crib and find their baby dead in the morning. Therefore SIDS is also known as a "crib death". Primary aim of the work is to summarize and organize the existing knowledge about sudden infant death syndrome focusing on the latest research in this field. The thesis inquires the causes of SIDS and preventive measures that can possibly lead to reduction of SIDS risk. The work concerns the amount and complexity of changes that influence children body within his first year of life which contributes to better understanding of SIDS occurrence.
Environmental and health impacts of treatment waste containing asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral, for its outstanding qualities have been widely used in all sectors, but most in the construction industry. Only later revealed that asbestos also has negative effects on the health of people. Followed the first restrictions in European countries and then a complete ban on the import, manufacture and use of asbestos. In the CR was issued first limitation on asbestos as late as 1984. Asbestos causes three main diseases, asbestosis, lung cancer and mezotheliom. Since the nineties last century, there is a gradual removal of asbestos and its substitution by other materials. This is accompanied by the emergence of asbestos waste. In the works is summarize the production of waste in the CR, is deal with understanding the proper procedure for remediation of asbestos with introducing their absences and the method waste removal. In the diseases caused by asbestos is the data statistically evaluated and graphically worked their outline. At present frequently remove asbestos materials from buildings and facilities, causing impacts on the environment. The Czech Republic lacks regulation that would govern the procedure for demolition of buildings containing asbestos materials. Developing the Skills of Elementary School Pupils in Preventing Injuries and the Ability to Provide First Aid

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of safety and protection of children's health. It namely disserts on the occurrence of accidents among children, their prevention and provision of first aid in case of an accident or sudden damage to one's health . The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of accident occurrence among children and the scope of assertion of permanent active prevention with selected primary school pupils. The theoretical part contains epidemiological data concerning accident occurrence among children, types of accidents from the point of view of physical and psychological development of a child and the environment in which these accidents occur and selected preventive measures. Most attention is paid to school accident occurrence, safety and protection of pupils and incorporation of this issue in the Framework educational programme for basic education. It also provides a summary of legal aspects and recommended practices of first aid provision, including the current trends and introduction of educational programmes and courses intended for lay public. The practical part maps the awareness of safe behaviour as the primary form of accident prevention among ninth grade primary school pupils as well as their knowledge, skills and attitudes to first aid provision.
