The art and drama workshop of this kind concentrates on older secondary school students aged from 15 ? 19. Its resources have been taken from several areas, which are as follows. Firstly it is a piece of literature, chosen according to the coming around topic in the lessons of the Czech language and literature in the appointed year. Secondly it is visual art, which appears here in two levels ? as inspiration taken from one particular period of history of art, identical with the literary work, and as creation itself , using specific art techniques (mostly of modern and contemporary art). Last but not least it exploits methods of drama education, that define basic arrangement of the whole workshop. One of the main objectives is to reduce crisis of fine art expression which becomes evident during the period of adolescence.

Thesis entitled ?Elocution (Speech) with Adolescents at Basic Art School? aims first of all at acquainting the reader ? in the theoretical part ? with the specific nature of the developmental period of adolescence from several perspectives ? from the points of view of human biology, psychology and sociology. Then the theoretical part concentrates in greater detail on the topic of reciting with adolescents, again dealt with from several points of view: what course does elocution with adolescents adopt, what features does it help develop, what is the adolescents? selection of artistic texts, what is their approach, their interpretation and what form does their public presentation take. The ensuing practical part describes a year-long project undertaken with a group of adolescents within elocution lessons at a primary art school. Using recitation the project disclosed key topics of adolescents in question, having further focused on differences in girls? and boys? reception. The practical project resulted in the creation and actual performance of a ?poetry drama? that can be understood as amounting to a generation?s statement.

Poetical Evening for the Little Ones
Jedličková, Klára ; Provazník, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Martínková, Nina (referee)
My bachelor thesis is based on the description of my project. I cooperated with high school students, who were also attendants of a literary-dramatic course at an elementary school of arts. My intention was to work with dramatic reading (recitation). We finally directed ourselves from a poetical evening for adults to a brand new target group, children in nurseries. After a complicated journey in search of the most appropriate texts for our performance we finally got to the folklore fairy-tales and rhymes collected and written up by Karel Jaromír Erben. We made a short performance out of them, which was mostly based on narrating fairy-tales to children. We wanted to bring the children near to classic fairy-tales as the basis of our modern and contemporary children´s literature. We also included originally folk rhymes, the basis of nursery rhymes and children´s poetry, which are appreciated by children for their typical rhythm, humour and playfulness. I tried to record the whole process and bring the observations and conclusions that we have reached during the course of time.
