Social Works With Clients With Schizophrenia

Social Work With Clients With Schizophrenia is a disertation concerninig the problematics of schizophrenia as a serious mental disorder. It presents the most important matters of this disorder, such as how its manifestated, what are its types and how it progreses. It handles the information about how the social work with this focus group is being executed in Czech Republic, what is a psychiatric rehabilitation and how it should be processed, how should social workers approach clients with this disorder and what are the specifcs of social work with those clients. It presents examples of organisations and associations working with this focus group in Czech Republic. The experimental part is a reasearch concerning how clients with schizophrenia percieves life, how the disorder started and continued and mainly how informed those clients are about the possibilities of social services.

1 Annotation DRVOTOVÁ, Petra. Social services for the elderly living in the family. Praha, 2016. Diploma thesis. Charles University, Hussite theological faculty. Supervisor: prof. PhDr. Beáta Krahulcová, CSc. The diploma thesis deals with a topic of social services for seniors living in families. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. Both of them describe seniors as clients of social work with focus on home care. Theoretical part elaborates on term of age, its symptoms and specific needs of elderly people. Social work with seniors and risks connected with such a matter are described as well. The first part focuses also on interconnection between social and health care and evaluation of self-sufficiency of elderly. Last two chapters describe home and institutional care and existing social services for seniors according to the law about social services (Act no. 108/2006) Empirical part of the thesis examines initiatives leading seniors in the region of Ústí nad Labem to choose home or institutional care. Qualitative research methods were used to complete empirical part. Respondents of the research were seniors in age of 65 or more, living in Ústí nad Labem region. Results were obtained and analyzed with use of semi structured questionnaire.
Homelessness in region Kladno

Thesis on homelessness in the region "Kladno" deals with the issue of homeless people. Their causes, consequences, pathologies associated with homelessness. It explores opportunities to assist those persons in returning to normal, dignified life to the mainstream society. The practical part is divided into two chapters. The first chapter is focused on mapping organizations in the city of Kladno, which tries to help homeless people to return to normal society. Furthermore, this section lists the number of persons who are reported on official visit it is a nation-wide statistics for each region in 2009 and 2014, and financial data on the amounts of money that were paid in one month for hostels in Kladno. The second chapter provides a questionnaire, which consists of 10 closed questions and deals with the general issue of homelessness in Kladno, the views of local people on the issue of their city, but also the problems of today.
Pathways out of Homelessness from the Respondents Point of View

Presented thesis is called Pathways Out of Homelessness from the Respondents Point of View. It basis lays in the analysis of interviewes with nine respondents by so called grounded theory method. As an answer to the question - How formaly homeless people get back to the society from their point of view? - the model of Changeable identity emerged. Its description is the basis of this thesis. I clarify two positions "homeless person" and "person with full society membership" within it, I am observing the transformation from the first position to the second through the reintegration process. I follow influences that affect it. In conclusion, I discuss a question of the end of homelessness. Welfare to support independence in old age

The thesis discusses the seniors living in their own homes. Specifically, it is the elderly who use social care services. Thanks to these services, some may remain in home care. The text of the thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the author describes concepts such as old age, quality of life, home, living in old age, social services and other essential concepts. The practical part contains the research, which was compiled from interviews with seniors. The aim of this thesis is to find contentment in the life of seniors living in their own homes who use social care services.
Social work with adolescents addicted to psychoactive substances

The aim of this thesis is to draw attention to the serious problem of drug addiction among adolescents who are abusing addictive substances or marijuana. This increasingly important issue is discussed a lot, but very often neglected by the society. This thesis provides definitions and characteristics of individual drugs and their effects on adolescents. The need for prevention and treatment of adolescent clients is emphasized, alongside with the family support, which is often crucial. In the practical part, the author of the thesis focuses on organizations that are critically important in this field. These organizations focus on prevention, counseling services, social inclusion and treatment facilities (inpatient and outpatient services), etc. Their characteristics and methods of client treatment are described. Furthermore, in this work the author presents a survey that confirms the findings of some detailed quantitative research papers. The main findings are that drug abuse is a major problem of this century and also a burden on society, especially on the adolescents themselves. The solution is very complicated and time consuming, but everyone can contribute by not being indifferent to this problem.
Using of Psychobiographical model of care when working with seniors

My dissertation is focused on usage of psychobiographical model of care during working with seniors. The first part of my dissertation is focused on theories, where I explain things such as old age and its age borders, changes in old age and senior's needs, dementia and its forms. We can also find here informations about senior services, social workers and ethic codex. Besides that, my dissertation contains informations about psychobiographical model and everything that is related to it. Second part of my dissertation is focud on concrete usage of the model in Senior House Háje and Senior House Palata for people with eyes dissorder. Counselling and social rehabilitation for persons with disabilities

In this master's thesis I deal with the theories ofsocial counseling. Social rehabilitation and needs are defined here and I focus on some kinds of disability. I identify and describe the sociology of disability, the concept of health and disease. Furthermore, I describe the counseling process connected to the social work - conditions, methods and techniques of social counseling, including the legislation insocial assistance. I deal with the counseling as a part of system of a complex rehabilitation with a focus on vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities. I point out the importance of working for the social use of a man with a disability or a handicap. In the second part of the master's thesis I make description and analysis of counseling and the social rehabilitation of the region Táborsko. I describe programs and proposals for systemic changes. Using a questionnaire survey (the respondents of three non-state non-profit organizations were asked) I realize how extensively sufficient and expert is the social counseling in Táborsko and from which sources a person with disability can benefit. I find out how sufficient is the social rehabilitation focused on the effectiveness of vocational rehabilitation and employability of these persons in the labor market. Social Work with Visually Impaired Clients

The thesis is focussed on social work with visually impaired clients. The theoretical part deals with eyesight, anatomy, physiology of the eye and various visual defects; further, on personality of handicapped individuals, quality of their lives, provided social assistance, methods of typhlo- rehabilitation and appropriate utensils. The application section searches by means of qualitative research, namely semi-structured interview and observation, complex functioning of an asylum for the handicapped - Home for Visually Impaired Clients PALATA, Prague. The dissertation presents, according to the findings, personalities of the interviewed, their subjective difficulties, the way they cope with the obstacles, their level of contentment, and considers bounds of assistance possibilities from the social background. The objective of the thesis is to describe options of social work with visually impaired clients. To present their personalities and difficulties they deal with due to their handicap.
