Development of an Algorithm for Automatic Characterization of a Sample Based on the Data Received by Means of the Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).
Klus, Jakub ; Černohorský,, Tomáš (referee) ; Veis,, Pavel (referee) ; Kaiser, Jozef (advisor)
Submitted work concerns with the theoretical and practical requirements for an automatic characterization of samples by means of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS). Theoretical aspects of laser-matter interaction, plasma expansion, and plasma emission are described theoretically within this work. The description of the plasma emission is enhanced with the spectral detection systems and statistical properties of the plasma. The principle of the automatic characterization is based on the multivariate data analysis theoretical background, which presents recent trend and fundamental approach for automatic spectra analysis in LIBS. Theoretical knowledge is manifested in six applications, which are presented as a comment to published manuscripts. These publications push the frontiers of automatic spectra processing in LIBS.
Study of energy transitions in laser induced plasma
Hošek, Martin ; Prochazka, David (referee) ; Klus, Jakub (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with study of influence of experimental conditions on self-absorption of chosen spectral lines of magnesium. At first, basic knowledge necessary for correct understanding of experiment and interpretation of it are described, then results of experiment with appropriate comments are presented.
Calibration of the test stand MZGS-200 and the monitoring of fatigue experiments using LabVIEW
Klus, Jakub ; Doložílek, Miroslav (referee) ; Slámečka, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor work concerns with the calibration method of the fatigue test stand MZGS-200, monitoring of fatigue experiments and analyzes signal retrieved from tenzometers. Work includes theoretical derivation of the equation describing force acting on the specimen. Two programs in LabVIEW environment were developed for calibration and measurements. The functionality of those programs was veried during fatigue experiments on specimens made of nickel-based superalloy Inconel 713LC. The measurements of mechanical loading by means of tenzometres were compared with optical measurements using noncontact laser sensor optoNCDT.
The new concept of maintenance and operation of manufacturing technologies
Klus, Jakub ; Marek, Tomáš (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a new concept of maintenance and operation of production technologies, where spare parts are manufactured using rapid prototyping methods. The options are compared with currently used methods. Furthermore, methodological recommendations are written on how to proceed with the application. The aim of the work is to evaluate the concept and confirm the theoretical assumptions on a case study.
Wedgewise correction for laser spectroscopy measurements
Schiffer, Štěpán ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Klus, Jakub (advisor)
One of the areas where LIBS is used is the creation of chemical maps of studied samples. Measurements made by this method are significantly influenced by the lens to sample distance. At the wedgewise samples this distance is changing during the measurement which decreases the quality of the chemical maps created. In this bachelor’s thesis a method of wedgewise correction is proposed and experimentally verified. A part of this thesis is a description of basics of laser spectroscopy and a summary of some variables influencing the LIBS experiment. The main part of the thesis is a proposal of wedgewise correction algorithm. At the end the results of measurement with the use of the proposed method are presented.
Increase of robustness of communication architecture for remote spectroscopy
Cebo, Patrik ; Klus, Jakub (referee) ; Kaiser, Jozef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of new communication architecture of a device for remote laser spectroscopy. The conceptual model is based on the analysis of the state of the art systems for remote laser spectroscopy. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of custom electric buses and its failures in deployment are discussed within this thesis. The result of the work includes the design of new communication architecture supported by Ethernet standards. The next part of the thesis focuses on the customized stepper motor controller composition, which will resolve the theoretical findings arising from the analysis.
Heavy workpiece measurement
Klus, Jakub ; Pavlík, Jan (referee) ; Holub, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with problematics of large scale metrology and describes possible methods of measurement. It focuses on ways to use coordinate measuring machines and laser trackers including their equipment. Then the variants are compared with each other on selected workpiece.
Optimizing measurement procedure of the optical radiation scattered by solid surface performed by the scattermeter
Klus, Jakub ; Kaiser, Jozef (referee) ; Ohlídal, Miloslav (advisor)
Design of a spectrometer accessory for absolute reflectance measurements
Šustek, Štěpán ; Antoš, Martin (referee) ; Klus, Jakub (advisor)
This paper describes the design and the design solution of an extension for measurement of an absolute reflectance using Perkin Elmer Lambda 45. This paper is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the basic theory of optics, knowledge of which is necessary for the proper function of the optical components used in the design. The second part provides an overview of configurations used in the practice to measure both the relative and the absolute reflectance. The last section includes the final design solution of the extension.
