Ordering of Jobs for Pickling Lines
Plšek, Michal ; Tinka, Jan (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This work resolves the scheduling problem of multiple hoists transporting products between chemicals baths of pickling line. Harmonograms of products are calculated by modified Shifting bottleneck heuristic, which prevents product conflicts inside baths. Genetic algorithm NSGA-II is used for solution-space search. Web application built over the optimization process allows user to manage/edit products, hoists, baths, configuration parameters and optimization results. Applying proposed heuristic to smaller optimization tasks boosts production effectivity up to 30-45 % (comparing to naive harmonograms). The result of this work is application on the basis of which full-fledged C++ application might be programmed. Then it might be used for solving larger-scale problems.
Liveness Detection of a Hand
Vanický, Jozef ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
This thesis solves the security problem of biometric systems which uses biometric data of a hand. It focuses on the absence of liveness detection during verification of a sample by the biometric system. In result this thesis offers to extend the contactless biometric systems by a system of liveness detection, which utilizes specific properties of human skin and its reactions to certain wavelengths of the visible spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. Reactions of the skin on the specific wavelengths of visible spectrum are analyzed and compared with the reactions of inorganic materials which imitates the hand. Outcome of this thesis is a design and implementation of a liveness detection algorithm, which can, based on the analysis of a set of photographs of the human palm, which was exposed to four wavelengths of a visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, successfully recognize a hand from a counterfeit with an average accuracy rate of 82.20 %.
Generation of Skin Disease Effects into Synthetic Fingerprints from SFinGe Generator
Wildmann, Radek ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis discuss the topic of generation of skin disease effects, psoriasis and colagenosis into synthetic fingerprints from SFinGe generator. Thesis includes theoretical as well as practical approach of the topic including implementation design, program implementation and experiment results. SFinGe approach is used to generate fingerprints. Python (2.7.6) is used to implement algorithm for image processing and generating disease symptoms with OpenCV, Matplotlib, NumPy and SciPy libraries. For results evaluation, NFIQ standard and Oravec approach are used. The application is able to generate fingerprint image with symptoms of psoriasis or colagenosis, therefore it can be used for futher research with biometric systems.
Extraction of Detailed Information from Plastic Fingerprints
Krsička, Tomáš ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with automatic analysis of plastic fingerprints and extraction of statistic information from them.   The application uses a texture highlighting algorithm to separate the area that includes the fingerprint and extracts the width and density of papillary ridges. These values are then converted into mm and appropriately exported. This information can then be used to estimate the age of the owner of the fingerprint. The results of the analysis of most of the data have shown wider ridges in male fingerprints and a growing width of ridges with the age of the owner.
Reconstruction of Damaged Parts of Fingerprint Image
Halva, Vladislav ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the reconstruction of damaged fingerprint areas. The main goal is the design and implementation of an algorithm for the reconstruction of these regions. The designed algorithm consists of three main parts. The first part is fingerprint feature extraction and their derivation in damaged areas. The second part is a localization of damaged areas, which is based mainly on the structure of papillary lines. The last part is the damaged areas reconstruction itself. Gabor filter is used in this part of the process. The algorithm is implemented in C++ using the OpenCV library. An analysis of the reconstruction success rate is done afterwards. It is at first evaluated using the difference of quality between the input and processed fingerprint image, estimated by NIST NFIQ 2.0 and one other alternative tool for fingerprint image quality evaluation. The next step is a manual evaluation of the reconstruction success rate in various types of damaged areas.
Vein-Artery Segmentation of Blood Vessels in Retinal Images
Sedlář, Radek ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Kavetskyi, Andrii (advisor)
This work focuses on an introduction to the issue of segmentation of veins and arteries from retinal images. The work contains a comparison of the most used methods with their pros and cons. Furthermore, a proprietary method for segmentation and division into veins and arteries is proposed. The work also contains a detailed description of the implementation of the proposed method and a summary of their results.
Morphing of Fingerprints
Dovičic, Denis ; Sakin, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor`s thesis deals with the creation of a realistic looking fingerprint with a double identity. The goal is the design and subsequent implementation of an algorithm to create such a morphed fingerprint. The morphing consists of three important steps, extracting the information from the fingerprint, morphing the information to generate a new fingerprint, and verifying the morphed fingerprint against both originals to evaluate the double identity rating. As an extension, an algorithm for blurring the edges of a morphed fingerprint was implemented, the Minutia Cylinder-Code SDK was integrated into the application to immediately obtain double identity rating, and the method of obtaining suitable identities from the original fingerprints was modified to improve results. The implemented algorithms were tested on a fingerprint database, where it was shown that in the absence of damage, the information from the fingerprint is reliably extracted, from 90 % cases the morphed fingerprint acquired two identities and from 60 % it also had a realistic appearance.
Line Damages Simulation Generation into Synthetic Fingerprint
Jóriová, Vanessa ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
Abstract The goal of this thesis is generation of line damage into synthetic fingerprint images. Creases, hair on sensor, and scars are specific damage chosen for generation. Attributes of all types of damage were analyzed in real fingerprint images and an algorithm for generation of this damage was proposed and implemented in Python. The quality of damaged fingerprints was evaluated by FiQiVi, the output of which is a percentage describing the quality of the fingerprint. VeriFinger was used to determine the effect on fingerprint matching, which is evaluated by a fingerprint matching score. Generation of damage into synthetic fingerprint images resulted in a decrease in both quality and fingerprint matching scores.
Extraction of Features from the Palm for Identification of Persons
Pricl, Patrik ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Sakin, Martin (advisor)
The work deals with the identification of persons using the palm. The specific properties of the skin and blood vessels are used. The response of the skin and blood vessels to electromagnetic radiation is used to capture these properties. Gabor's filter is used to extract skin properties. The LLBP algorithm is used to extract the veins. It uses the Hamming distance, the Euclidean distance and the K-nearest neighbor algorithm to compare properties.
