Kubeš, Jiří ; Eichlerová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Horáček, Tomáš (referee)
79 Abstract The method of entering into a contract in public tenders according to Act. No. 134/2016 Coll. is a civil contractual process with a high degree of formalization and legal regulation. This makes it different from the general contractual process in civil law. The first chapter of this thesis is devoted to the analysis of public tenders in terms of setting up the legal framework. It goes into a conclusion that contractual process in public tender is part of the civil law with the subsidiary use of civil law rules, especially the Civil Code. The second chapter deals with a contractual process in a public tender itself. The process is divided into two phases - a precontractual phase and contractual phase. The precontractual phase includes procedures of the public tender that determine the clarification of content of the contract and the range of contractors. The contractual phase contains mainly the actual entering into a contract with successful tenderer. The chapter describes the specificity of the contractual process in a public tender since the announcement of the tender up to the actual entering into a contract. These specificities are introduced in relation to the open procedure being used in upper-tier mode. At the end of the chapter, there is a comparison with other types of proceedings and...

"Eastern Europe" in the Mental Map of an English Traveller from the 16th to the 18th Century Abstract The thesis aims to interpret the early modern English/British travel writings about (Central) Eastern Europe. It results in the reconstruction of mental maps of the selected travellers with regard to a typology (merchants, professionals, intellectuals, clergymen, and women). The special attention is paid to the images of marginality, such as inconvenience and danger, ignorance and backwardness, exaggeration and pomp, former splendour and present lamentation, pleasant and unpleasant landscape. The primary sources comprise a selection of fifteen travel writings which are read and interpreted with respect to the development of the genre and to the broader cultural and historical context. The covering concept is a mental map conceived as an imaginary representation of space and as a tool for cultural orientation and self-identification. The reconstruction of the mental maps is performed in four steps. Firstly, by defining the subject (a traveller) within the typology. Secondly, the landmarks (centres) in the mental maps are reconstructed. Thirdly, the images of marginality are presented. Finally, the mental maps are concluded. Methodologically, the thesis is based on the interpretation and language analysis of...

Combined treatment of advanced head and neck cancer with radiotherapy and cycooxygenase-2 inhibitors (phase I study) This paper describes the course and presents the outcomes of a original phase I study of combined treatment of advanced head and neck cancer using standard radiotherapeutic technique and COX2 inhibitor (Celebrex) as a potentiating agent. The primary goal of the study was identifying of the maximum tolerated dose of Celebrex for the purpose of further clinical investigation. In the theoretical introduction I present data on the incidence and mortality of HaN cancer worldwide and in the Czech republic, further preclinical data justifying use of Celebrex in combined treatment with radiotherapy. Special emphasis was put on presentation of local data systematically gained in Clinic of Oncology in Ostrava where this study has been conducted. These data include an overview of incidence, mortality, therapeutic methods and treatment toxicity profiles. Since the phase I study as such does not include comparison with control patient group, it is necessary to be aware of local standards. This is the background to establish inclusion criteria for patient recruitment, toxicity evaluation and setting maximum tolerance dose criteria. This study furthermore investigates expression of COX2 in tumor tissue and...
Hyperthermia in the treatment of locally advanced or recurrent breast cancer
Pešulová, Andrea ; Kubeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Zapletal, Radek (referee)
As the subject of my bachelor's thesis I have selected hyperthermia as an instrument in the treatment of local advanced or recurrent breast cancer. In separate chapters I describe the anatomy, epidemiology, aetiological factors, clinical symptoms, diagnostic screening, and principal characteristics of local advanced or recurrent carcinoma, their TNM classification and therapeutic options. The bulk of my work is devoted to hyperthermia. I describe hyperthermia as an anti-tumour therapeutic modality, which utilizes the warming of tissue to a temperature of 40 - 44 řC. Hyperthermia is deployed locally, partially or generally (whole body). It is combined with other treatment possibilities, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. In particular cases of advanced or recurrent tumours, treatment results are much improved by the combined use of hyperthermia with radiotherapy or chemotherapy. I go on to describe the history of hyperthermia, the mechanisms for its effectiveness in terms of tissue and immunology and DNA repair, the technical equipment necessary for its implementation, results of clinical trials, and side-effects. Hyperthermia is deployed in a small number of centres in the Czech Republic, namely Hradec Králové and Prague. In Hradec Králové, ultrasound warming is used, while the Prague centre uses...
