Contemporary trends in tourism

This BA Thesis deals with the contemporary trends in tourism. The main goal of the thesis is to analyse these trends and to find out the differences in using these trends between citizens of the Czech Republic and citizens of other countries. The issue at hand was researched using a survey. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is dedicated into the first of two chapters, which are indispensable in order to introduce he reader into to the issue of tourism. The practical part aims at the description of contemporary trends in the tree main areas of tourist services: accommodation, transportation and food and beverage. These trends are demonstrated on specific examples of Airbnb, Uber or themed restaurants.
Tourism in a Chosen Region of Scotland

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to find out and to assess the condition of tourism in a chosen region of Scotland. It is concentrated mainly on incoming tourism. The thesis focuses on characteristics of accommodation facilities, their classification and categorization. The theoretical part includes characteristics of the whole Scotland in general, describes preconditions for the tourism development and presents some organizations related to tourism. In the theoretical part, there is also a description of the chosen region and its attractions. Moreover, different statistics related both to the whole country and the chosen region were processed. Using the method of structured interview, three accommodation facilities were analysed in a certain location. The interviews helped to obtain more detailed cognition of local accommodation facilities and to identify advantages and problems related to tourism in the location. Thanks to the comparison of statistics and thanks to the own research, the condition of tourism in the region was assessed.
Loyalty program of a selected accommodation facility in Prague

This bachelors thesis deals with loyalty program of accommodation facilities. The thesis characterize principles of the program and describes its functioning. The loyalty program is used by many firms, therefore the aim of this work is to assess its effectiveness through the evaluations of the particular loyalty program, Starwood Preferred Guest, which is founded by hotels chain called Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Inc. The evaluation is done from two different points of view. From the members point of view it focuses on its benefits and satisfactions., whereas the companys point of view the prior focus is on its profitability. The study is based on real impacts of the loyalty program on selected accommodation. The impacts are pictured in the statistics form, which are provided from internal sources of the chosen hotel. The figures are used for calculation of the profitability, which includes computation of how much the income from a member differs from a regular guest. To evaluate the advantageous of the program for a customer the information gained from the characteristic of the program has been used. To determine members satisfaction, the analysis of the guests review has been used. This thesis contributes to increase an awareness of the importance of loyalty programs, particularly of accommodation loyalty programs.
Revenue Management in small accommodation facilities

The topic of this thesis is Revenue Management and application of its principles in a small accommodation facility. There are many publications from Czech and international scholars, dedicated to Revenue Management as an indispensable part of any industry. In this thesis its main principles, which were created for use by airline companies and big hotels. This work describes application of their adaptated version in a small hotel and results of this application.
Analysis of online promotion tools used during launch of the new hotel

My master s thesis deals with the newly opened luxury boutique hotel COSMOPOLITAN, situated in Prague, and its services. The work analyzes the online promotion tools used during launch of the new hotel. The master s thesis is divided into seven parts. The first part describes basic terms in the tourism and in the hotel industry. The second chapter is focused on the first and the second part of the Life cycle of the product in general. The third chapter describes basic online promotion tools. The fourth part is about three important companies in relation to the hotel COSMOPOLITAN - Special Tours, Zlatnická a F&B Solutions. Fifth part describes the hotel COSMOPOLITAN and its basic and additional services. In the sixth chapter, there is an analysis of the present situation of the hotel COSMOPOLITAN after being 6 months on the market. Last part evaluates the results of the on-line promotion and distribution tools of the hotel, including the application of the Google Analytics.
Revenue Management - current status and prospects for further development in the hotel industry

This doctoral dissertation thesis focuses on current turnover management following principles of Revenue management in the field of hospitality in the Czech Republic. Final part of the thesis offers also prognosis of future development. The goal is to introduce Revenue management as an economic and management approach to direction of accommodation establishments, which maximize turnover. It uses optimum recovery ratio of accommodation capacity in combination with maximum average rate and price per available room, leading to optimization of economic results (when costs adequately controlled). It is a very complex theme which surpasses the capacity of this thesis. Therefore, the author chose a few segments with important influence on key economic indicators of accommodation establishments and where the initial optimum strategic settings are very important. These segments were examined both theoretically and practically. The author defines key terms using Czech and foreign literature, her own training materials and structured interviews with revenue/hotel managers. Several questionnaires, foreign case studies and personal experience of revenue management techniques implementation in accommodation establishments in the Czech Republic were used in the period from 2013 till 2016 as supporting materials for the practical part of the thesis. Results show that Revenue management has developed and requirements for the third generation of revenue managers are on the same level as for the top management. Czech accommodation establishments have, in comparison with western world or international chains, still room for improvement. The situation improves also in regions thanks to strong enlightenment and necessary reaction to strong competition and difficult economic conditions. Research shows that the best practice combines adequate modern technologies with well-trained and experienced human resources. Results point out room for further development of research in the field of Revenue management techniques usage, not only for hospitality services, but also for the field of tourism generally.
Tourism of Northern Sweden

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to evaluate the current situation of tourism in Northern Sweden. The theoretical part defines basic terms of tourism and describes its forms that are most relevant to the given region. The beginning of the practical part deals with the description of Sweden, with the development of local tourism and with the current conditions. Subsequently, the thesis focuses on offered attractions and, the development and the structure of visitors. Afterwards, the last part uses PEST and SWOT analysis for general assessment of the given region. In the end, Northern Sweden is compared to both, the rest of the country and to the neighbouring parts of Norway and Finland.
State accommodation facility in the environment of private enterprises

The thesis analyses and evaluates a market position of SPA HOTEL THERMAL. The main aim of my thesis is the analysis of the hotel and services that are provided in the hotel and also to find out advantages and disadvantages of being owned by the state. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first part deals with the history and development of hospitality, general features of the hotel and defines the basic concept of organization and organizing. The practical part of work is focused directly on the hotel Thermal. Second part describes the history of the hotel Thermal, analyses the services and evaluates a market position of the hotel in the environment of four private enterprises. This part also includes SWOT analysis. The last chapter deals with the disadvantages the hotel has in personnel policy, the way the hotel is financed and legislation.
The significance of the spa tourism focused on the spa triangle

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to discover the sense of Czech spas in tourism of the Czech Republic. In theoretical part is defined a term balneology, then is described a history and development of the balneology. Thesis includes exploration of the quality of balneology, regarding lodging, food and beverages, healing and supplementary services. The practical part of bachelor thesis is based on the West Bohemian spa triangle. The main part of thesis consist of analysis of the spa tourism in region Karlovy Vary, comparative research of spa hotels and charakteristics of present trends in this field.
Sharing economy in France and its impact on tourism

This master's thesis focuses on phenomen of sharing economy in France and its impact on tourism. It analyses the current situation of sharing economy in France and emphasizes the role of France on the market of sharing economy in comparison with other countries, especially with the Czech Republic. The following practical part concentrates on the different knowledge and experience with services in sharing economy between the people living in France and in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this comparison is to emphasize the difference between these countries and determine the situation of sharing economy in France more deeply.
