Vulgarity of adolescents and its motivation
Hozáková, Veronika ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Strejčková, Helena (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to map the motivations of girls and boys which lead them to act in a vulgar way and be vulgar. The second objective is to find out whether their motivations differ or not and how the non-vulgar pupils see their vulgar colleagues and which motivations of vulgar behavior they see themselves. Research sample consists of elementary school pupils (girls & boys) from two ninth grade classes. Engaged observation, questionnaire and focus groups were used research methods. Acting in a vulgar way brings both positives and negatives to the individuals. In the period of adolescents, the most used vulgarisms are the ones with social function, but psychohygienic function remains very important for the individuals as well. At this age, individuals are strongly influenced by peers who act as both opinion and expression leaders.
