Comparative - kinsiological analysis of the rowing stroke on a single scull and on a rowing machine Concept 2

Title: Kinesiological analysis of the rowing stroke on a single scull and on a rowing ergometer Concept 2 comparison Purposes: The purpose of the present study was to determine a specific structure in timing of selected muscles during two movement patterns - rowing on a single scull and rowing on an ergometer Concept 2. Methods: By surface electromyography we recorded muscular activity, synergies and involvement throughout mean cycle of the rowing stroke. Results: The mutual correlations of mean EMG curves of all measured muscles showed, that there were not found any differences in inter-locomotive synchronization of selected muscles. Established values of correlation (r) showed higher level of dynamic balance (performance similarity between both measured activities. Determination of the muscular activity timing considering onsets and cessations, was in the percentual results explication of the movement cycle inter-locomotive different. Conclusion: Results showed a great similarity in synergies organizing the muscular coordination in between both measured physical activities. But timing of the movement was different in the moments of muscular activity onsets during rowing and during ergometer rowing. This may be attributed to the specificity of on-water locomotion. Title: Upper body muscles activity in V2 skating technique, double poling and on a skiing machine Concept 2 Objectives: Comparison of involvement upper body muscles during V2 skating technique, double poling and on a skiing machine Concept 2. Methods: Comparative analysis: the dates were measured by surface electromyography and 2-D video-analysis. Results: We found statistically significant coordination similarity by comparisons muscle preactivation and activation during V2 skating technique and double poling. Trunk flexors musculus obliquus abdominis externus and musculus rectus abdominis showed unlike the main propulsion muscles, musculus pectoralis major, musculus triceps brachii and musculus latissimus dorsi, significantly higher preactivation during V2 skating technique and double poling in comparison to skiing machine Concept 2. Activation of the main propulsion muscles on a skiing machine Concept 2 is significantly higher than during V2 skating technique and double poling. Skiing machine Concept 2 cannot be considered as a specific training method for cross-country skiing. Long-term application may cause disruption of double poling technique. Practical use of Web Intelligence

Web Intelligence has been quiet a popular topic lately. This thesis doesn't try to form the exact definition of Web Intelligence, because it's impossible. The aim is to demonstrate practical use of WI in retail banking instead. Since Web Intelligence can be seen as some kind of advanced Web Analytics system, the text starts off with explaining basics of Web Analytics. Then a hypothetical story about Mr. Cerny ' looking for a bank that would give him a mortgage loan is told. Meanwhile, a bank that provides Mr. Cerny 's current account tries to sell its own mortgage loan to him. Unfortunately, wrong channel at a wrong time is used to communicate the message which ends up with Mr. Cerny denying the offer instantly. Obvious mistakes made by the bank are then picked up and discussed. The conclusion is you need to know your customer very good to have long and healthy relationship. One way to achieve this is to deployWeb Intelligence solution that would reveal online habits of every one of your customers. Event Driven Marketing online campaigns can then be used to identify customers needs and target them at the right time, through the right channel and with the right message. If everything works well, the customer starts to percieve marketing communication as a personal support rather than annoying advertisement.
Usability of web pages and applications and its testing and measuring

This bachelor thesis is divided into three standalone parts. First of them serves as an introduction to the topic of web usability. It also mentions web accessibility which may also affect usability, but is not a subject of this thesis. Next part offers an overview of issues web developers could run into when working on their projects. It tries to describe possible problems and proposes suitable solutions. Interesting sections are those related to text writing and web forms creating. It's necessary to work properly with on-line text and its formatting, because it is the most important part of web content. Also forms are important thanks the fact they are used to gather user's input. Due to that there is a necessity to have them easily fillable and error proof. The goal of the third part was to conduct usability testing of real server -- Nepropasni.cz. It's main use is searching for various cultural actions and performances. Two tests were run -- usability testing with real users and heuristic analysis. Results of user usability testing are discussed in final report, which is also attached to this thesis. Last part further describes other methods often used to measure and asses web pages.
