Plasticity after focal brain ischemia

The thesis is focused on brain ischemic injury with an accent on subsequent spontaneous and rehabilitation-induced plastic changes related to motor recovery. General part of thesis describes cortical anatomy and pathophysiology of brain ischaemia including classification of ischemia, ischemic cascade and reperfusion injury. There is also a chapter about spontaneous plasticity and recovery. The main part gives a survey of rat models of focal cortical ischemia, of functional assessment and rehabilitation. Results of rehabilitation-induced cortical plasticity are also presented.

Changes of motor performance after epileptic seizure in developing laboratory rats

The aim of the work was analysis of postictal period - possible changes of motor performance after seizure. Epileptic afterdischarges are induced by stimulation cof ortical sensorimotor area in rat. We will use the intensity to produce human myoclonic seizure in 12-, 18- a 25- days old animals. The youngets and the oldest groups differ by the absence (12-day-old rats) or presence (25-day-old- ones) of postictal refractoriness. Control groups will be formed by intact animals. Analysis of renewable energy investment opportunities

The thesis deals with the assessing of investment opportunity in the field of renewable natural resources. Fundamental analysis is carried out on First Solar which is a company producing solar modules. Thus, the work is focused on the area of photovoltaics. To determine the company's value, the method of discounted cash flow is used. The overall situation of the company is analyzed by the implementation of global, industry and company analysis.
