Implementation of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppliers

This diploma thesis deals with the system of monitoring and evaluation of suppliers at the company RayService, a.s.. The aim is the implementation of an integrated procedural approach within the office work with suppliers. Assortment and quantity of suppliers is now so wide that the existing non-systemic solutions prevent more effective manufacturing and overall development of the company. Everything must be consistent with possible sources of the company, for example IS Helios. The basic condition is availability of data and by this also easy work with them. The main measurement of suppliers at the company RayService is the OTD (on time delivery) of suppliers, which value is 93% today. This work should set up a system of monitoring and evaluation of suppliers at the company so that the growing trend of OTD (from the current 63% to target 93%) can start.

The Role of the World Trade Organization in the Economic Crisis of 2008-2013

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has sought to liberalize the international trade market and prevent the rise of protectionism. This bachelor thesis aims to test the impact of the WTO, in particular the impact of the Dispute Settlement Mechanism (DSM), on preventing the rise of protectionism in the times of economic crisis of 2008. The main assumption is the deterrent effect of the Mechanism, it means the more disputes are there in the concrete sector, the less is the sector susceptible to increased protectionism. The second objective is to test the relative change of tariff and non-tariff barriers in times of economic crisis. I expect that the non-tariff barriers have increased and the average tariff rates have decreased, while the compensatory effect is being predicted between the rise in non-tariff barriers and the decrease in tariff rates. In the case of a high increase in non-tariff barriers in one sector, there should be a sharp decline in average tariff rates. Using a simple regression analysis method, a negative relationship between the number of disputes in the sector and the increase in protectionism has been found.
