Determination of methylmercury in lichens and cyanobacterial mat by GC-AFS
Coufalík, Pavel ; Meszarosová, N. ; Coufalíková, K. ; Zvěřina, O. ; Komárek, J.
The aim of this research was a development of the analytical method suitable for the determination of trace concentration of methylmercury in the ecosystem of Antarctic lakes. The determination of mercury bioaccumulation in cyanobacterial mat (the colonies of algae and cyanobacteria) stands in focus as well.
Organic markers and compounds in PM1 aerosol in small town near Prague (Czech Republic) in winter 2016
Křůmal, Kamil ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Coufalík, Pavel ; Večeřa, Zbyněk
Contribution summarizes the concentrations of monosaccharide anhydrides, resin\nacids, methoxyphenols, monosaccharides, disaccharides, sugar alcohols, alkanes,\nhopanes, steranes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in PM1 aerosols in small town\nKladno-Švermov in winter. According to concentrations of organic markers, the\nidentification of emission sources in Kladno-Švermov is discussed.
Combined effect of temperature and CdO nanoparticles treatment on Picea abies
Večeřová, Kristýna ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Oravec, Michal ; Kozáčiková, Michaela ; Pompeiano, Antonio ; Coufalík, Pavel ; Urban, Otmar
Three-years old seedlings of Picea abies were pre-treated under two different\ntemperatures (20x35 °C) and subsequently exposed to elevated concentration of CdO\nnanoparticles (CdONPs). Two-week exposure to airborne CdONPs of ecologically\nrelevant size and concentration significantly reduced photosynthetic light use efficiency\nin plants as well as contents of photosynthetic pigments and saccharides. In contrary,\namino acid content was increased under CdONPs. These changes were further\nmodulated by previous growth temperature.
Determination of levoglucosan in urban aerosol
Coufalík, Pavel ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Čmelík, Richard
The main aim of this work was a development of the analytical method for levoglucosan\ndetermination including direct collection of aerosol into water phase, preconcentration,\nand determination by LC-MS.
Permanent deformation on asphalt mixtures
Bambulová, Lucie ; Coufalík, Pavel (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with a description of the laboratory properties of aged bituminous binders in relation to permanent deformation. The theoretical part deals with the empirical tests: needle penetration and softening point. There is also explained the procedure and the principle of the MSCR test. In the practical part are evaluated the properties of fifteen tested bituminous binders and based on the results are made two plates which are tested to permanent deformation.
Force ductility of asphalt binders
Smolka, Zdeněk ; Coufalík, Pavel (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis describes a laboratory characteristics of bituminous binders. There will be described the principle and results of laboratory tests, needle penetration, softening point by ring and ball and force ductility. The tests will be performed on samples of the bituminous binders with different degrees of modification.
Desing and evaluation of Bituminous Stress Absorbing Pavement Layer
Coufalík, Pavel ; Špaček, Petr (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the possibility of special asphalt-rubber mixture using - Stress Absorbing Layer (SAL). In the theoretical part the SAL and test methods are described. In the practical part, several different mixtures are designed and selected mixtures were tested. Low-temperature characteristics, permanent deformations, bending tensile relaxation, stiffness modulus and fatigue properties were determined. Based on the test results the mixtures were compared and their benefit is evaluated according to Performance Pavement Design Method, the pavement structure was evaluated by using of computer programme LayEps.
MSCR test in dynamic shear rheometer
Střasáková, Monika ; Coufalík, Pavel (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The laboratory properties of bituminous binders in relation to permanent deformation are described in this bachelor‘s thesis. The principle and procedure of MSCR test will be explained in the theoretical part. The principle of empirical tests (needle penetration, elastic recovery and softening point) will be also described. The properties of four bituminous binders will be evaluated in practical part. The comparison of binders will be performed based on test results.
Inertial measurement unit for road parameter measurment
Toman, Ondřej ; Coufalík, Pavel (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis deals with the measurement of road unevenness. Inertial measurement unit (IMU) is an electronic device that provides information about acceleration and space orientation thanks to combination of gyroscopes and accelerators. IMU is a basic component of all inertial measurement systems that are used to transport measurement. Roadways with different surfaces were tested for verification of this device. The aim of this thesis is the description of work with inertial measurement unit as well as description of measurement and its performance, evaluation and verification of IMU usage for analysis of road unevenness. At the end there are some recommendations for improvement.
Geochemistry of Cenozoic volcanic rocks of the Faroe Islands with a focus on their ultra-trace contents of Hg
Šišková, P. ; Krmíček, Lukáš ; Coufalík, Pavel
According to geophysical research performed in the eastern part of the North Atlantic, many authors inferred that the basalt flows on the Faroe Islands overlie a continental metamorphic basement supposedly of Precambrian age. With respect to this, we focused our study on determination of ultratrace mercury contents by means of atomic absorption spectrometry to test this hypothesis. Mercury contents in basalts seem to be a sensitive tool for distinguishing between the basalts not affected by interaction with the continental crust and the basalts enclosing crustal xenoliths. Contents of Hg show great variability between samples even within the same formation. We presume that high concentrations of Hg in some samples are related to stagnation of individual pulses of parent magma in the continental crust below the Faroe Islands.
