Frame of the lifting Cabin
Caha, Ondřej ; Pavelec, Bohuslav (referee) ; Mynář, Břetislav (advisor)
This master thesis deal with design of elevator cabin frame. Working load of frame is 630 kg (8 people). Speed of elevator is 1m/s. This work also contains final element analysis of frame. Frame structure is analyzed by software I-DEAS.
Interaction of the noble gas ions and gallium with surfaces and thin layers studied by Low Energy Ion Scattering LEIS
Chmelický, Martin ; Caha, Ondřej (referee) ; Průša, Stanislav (advisor)
In this thesis we study the interaction of helium, neon, argon and gallium ions with graphene. The graphene structure is contaminated with gallium ions during the graphene processing by focused gallium beam (FIB). The graphene properties are affected, e.g. reducing the electrical conductivity. The aim of this thesis is to verify the effect of selected ion beams on the graphene structure and select suitable ion beam for sputtering. Furthermore, the modification of standard heating stage used in LEIS instrument (Qtac 100) was designed and implemented. The LEIS instrument is connected to the complex UHV system for deposition and analysis of nanostructures – SPECS. This modification allows analysis of selected nanoparticles on suitable substrate at the elevated temperature.
Mechanisms enabling individual recognition of passerine birds
Caha, Ondřej ; Petrusková, Tereza (advisor) ; Vokurková, Jana (referee)
Vocalization allows birds to communicate over long distances or in environments, where can be difficult to detect visual signals. Vocalization can be divided into songs and calls. Song may inform a listener of signal about species, sex, male quality, aggressive motivation and also about singer's identity. Recognition of different individuals is very valuable ability that is commonly used during territorial interactions among males. Correct identification of males, that pose different threat, enable to respond adequately to the situation and save energy or to avoid injury in potential conflict. The ability of individual distinguishing based on song was demonstrated by using playback experiments for many passerines, but it was rarely revealed the way of such identification. This review deals with the issue of neighbour-stranger experiments that confirm the ability of passerines to discriminate between neighbours and strangers. Further, it focus on structures or characteristics of birdsong enabling individual recognition of passerines and their possibly use for individual acoustic monitoring.
Diffuse x-ray scattering from GaN epitaxial layers
Barchuk, Mykhailo ; Holý, Václav (advisor) ; Caha, Ondřej (referee) ; Pietsch, Ulrich (referee)
Real structure of heteroepitaxial GaN and AlGaN layers is studied by diffuse x-ray scattering. A new developed method based on Monte Carlo simulation enabling to determine densities of threading dislocations in c-plane GaN and stacking faults in a-plane GaN is presented. The results of Monte Carlo simulations are compared with ones obtained by use of other conventional techniques. The advantages and limitations of the new method are discussed in detail. The methods accuracy is estimated as about 15%. We have shown that our method is a reliable tool for threading dislocations and stacking faults densities determination.
Interaction of short-wavelength laser pulses with matter on various time scales
Vozda, Vojtěch ; Kunc, Jan (advisor) ; Caha, Ondřej (referee) ; Timneanu, Nicusor (referee)
An advent of powerful sources producing intense and ultrashort laser pulses containing high-energy photons opened up a wide range of possibilities to conduct experiments formerly achievable only through theoretical calculations and models. This thesis provides a complex overview of processes which occur right after arrival of the first photons, through lattice heating, up to resolidification and formation of irreversible changes. Irradiated spots and craters formed in various materials are examined employing a wide range of microscopic and spectroscopic methods which provide a deep insight into laser-induced modifications such as detachment of a graphene layer from SiC substrate or thermally-induced diffusion of tellurium inclusions through CdTe lattice. An increased emphasis is placed on beam characterization utilizing ablation and desorption imprints in suitable solids. A proper knowledge of the beam fluence profile may serve for evaluation of diverse damage thresholds as well as for modelling of the pulse propagation or consequent retrieval of otherwise unmeasurable opacity of warm dense aluminium plasma heated to temperatures exceeding tens of thousands of Kelvins. Moreover, the method of desorption imprints is extended to accurate characterization of pulses delivered at MHz repetition rate....
