Translation equivalents and function of eventive objects after the verbs "give/make" ("give an answer/make a promise")

This BA thesis deals with the description of eventive objects after the verbs give and make. There is no equivalent construction in Czech and therefore the thesis focuses on the translation equivalents as well. The eventive object is a part of verbo-nominal constructions (the verb reflects the grammatical categories; the eventive object bears the meaning). One of the functions of the construction is modification and quantification flexibility (e.g. she gave a sad smile). Usually the modificators (both pre- and postmodificators) of the eventive noun are translated as adverbials into Czech. The position of the adverbial in the Czech sentence can cause problems in translation. In terms of methodology, the thesis is based on the analysis of 100 eventive objects exported from English original texts and their translation equivalents. The corpus of examples was acquired from InterCorp parallel corpus available under Český národní korpus. Firstly, and most importantly, clear criteria of the construction have to be established. Then the individual examples of the construction will be classified and described. Finally, the translation equivalents and modification will be analysed.

Income as a subject of taxation Abstract This thesis deals with defining income as a subject of tax. The concept of income is not clearly defined anywhere, so this thesis tries to look into the very essence of this concept and try not to define it precisely, but to find its essential features. This thesis offers multiple perspectives on the same issue, while not only looking income relevant for tax purposes, but the very essence of this concept. It considers income from an economic point of view, from the point of view of the Income Tax Act and, last but not least, from the point of view of the jurisprudence of the Supreme Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court. Along with these points of view, it describes related issues such as registration of income for tax purposes or the development of income tax over time. The thesis includes practical examples of individual types of income, which illustrate the issue in more detail. The thesis aims to find the essential features of income, to think about what can be considered as income, what constitutes it and how these findings correspond with the tax system in the Czech Republic. Spending high school youth's free time during the coronavirus period

The bachelor's thesis on the topic "Spending leisure time of secondary school youth in the coronavirus era" focuses on the issue of spending leisure time of secondary school youth in the town of Trhové Sviny at a time when the society is being restricted by the coronavirus pandemic. The theoretical part characterizes the basic concepts of leisure, youth, adolescence, clarification of the functions of leisure and factors influencing youth leisure in society.In the practical part, the leisure time of secondary school youth during the coronavirus is analyzed using a questionnaire, to establish if the youth is satisfied with the use of their leisure time and what the distribution of their free time looks like during the coronavirus. The aim of this thesis is to find out how secondary school youth spend their free time at the time of coronavirus, and how the use, form and function of high school youth's leisure time change during the coronavirus period compared to the normal state.

Analysis of German textbook materials for lower - secondary schools from 90s up to now focusing on the development of composing realia

This thesis is concerned with the analysis of sets of German language textbooks intended for the second grade of elementary school dating from the nineties until now from the point of view of the historical development of the mediation of language culture and background. The theoretical part clarifies the terms substantial for the issue in question, it describes the historical development of language culture and background teaching, individual approaches to the mediation of language culture and background and while doing so, it follows the fundamental publications concerning the didactics of language culture and background and also crucial works regarding the analysis of textbook sets. The practical part describes the design of the research, its division to stages, the sample of the textbooks analysed and the establishing of the criteria according to which the textbooks will be analysed. On the basis of thus established criteria, nine textbook sets have been analysed. The method utilised was content and comparative analysis. The fundamental part of this thesis presents the results and the final evaluation. The detection of cognitive dysfunction in multiple sclerosis

Evaluation of cognitive impairment is often omitted in multiple sclerosis (MS), as the available instruments usually require considerable time and resources, and are not readily available in all countries. The aims of this study were to examine validity of the Czech translation of the MACFIMS (Minimal Assessment of Cognitive Function in MS), to validate the BICAMS (Brief International Cognitive Assessment for MS) and to compare outcomes of the MACFIMS and the BICAMS. We evaluated 367 MS patients and 134 healthy controls with the MACFIMS battery, which also comprises the 3 tests of the BICAMS (Symbol Digit Modalities Test, Brief Visuospatial Memory Test- Revised, California Verbal Learning Test, second edition). The most accurate BICAMS criterion of cognitive deficit was that of at least 1 of the overall 3 tests outside the normal range (sensitivity = 94%, specificity = 86%, p=10-28). Outcomes of the Czech translation of the MACFIMS were comparable to its original. The MACFIMS and the BICAMS identified cognitive deficit in 55% and 58% of the MS patients, respectively. Both the BICAMS and MACFIMS predicted patient vocational status. The BICAMS is highly sensitive and specific to cognitive impairment in MS as defined by the MACFIMS. Human dignity as the foundation of the relationship between social worker and klient

The bachelor thesis "Human dignity as the foundation of relationship between social worker and klient", defines the concept of human dignity and deals with the role of human dignity within the social worker-client relationship. This thesis focuses on theoretical definition of the concept of human dignity, its history and religious and jural value. Further it deals with the social worker - client relationship and the represebtatives of both sides. The objective of this thesis is to detect the social workers and clients idea behind the concept of human dignity, and if they consider human dignity the foundation of their relationship. The field part of the thesis tells the resukts of the quality research performedby polling method and semi-structured interview technique. The information was further rewrittten and processed with open coding analysis. The research sample was made out of two subject group. The first subject group consisted of four social workers and the second subject group consisted of four seniors from the facility Centrum sociálních služeb Staroměstská p. o. Research has shown that from communication partners by the uniqueness of human dignity, respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, respect for the needs and values, equality, partnership, empathy and decency. Furthermore, research has confirmed that human dignity is considered along with other values and abilities to be the basis of the relationship between the social worker and the client, and her position in this relationship is important and should be respected. I hope that this bachelor thesis will increase the awareness of the concept of human dignity and its results will help to improve the development of social work.

The main object of thesis is to do a survey and to analyse curricular documents and chemistry textbooks. Representative sample was chosen at the basis of stratified choice. Pedagogical research methods were used to analyse and evaluate data. Results were evaluated and discussed. A serious game based on nomenclature of organic chemistry was designed on the base of discovered facts. Some minor disproportions were discovered between School Educational Programmes and Framework Educational Programme.

Discharge from debts by individuals doing business - the possible effects on the economy

The topic of this thesis is Discharge from debts by individuals doing business - the possible effects on the economy. The aim of the diploma thesis is to introduce and to evaluate the discharge from debts of individuals-businessmen as one of the rehabilitative solutions of insolvency. In the first part, we get acquainted with development of legislative adjustment of insolvency law, course of the insolvency proceedings and process subjects. The thesis follows with introducing methods of solving the insolvency of a debtor. The main part of the thesis discusses the issue of discharge from debts of businessmen in detail including formulation of calculation of repayment and evaluation of suitability of this approach to solution of business debts based on data from publicly available sources. In the last part, we focus on assessing the degree of burden on borrowers and creditors and possible impacts on the economy. In the conclusion there are summarized all learned facts.
