Radiotherapy of Benign Diseases
BARTOŠOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor's thesis deals with current indications of non-cancer radiotherapy and methods of their implementation, including the sources of ionizing radiation used. Non-cancer therapy has been used for over 100 years. Treatment with ionizing radiation in non-cancer diseases brings the expected effect, risk is very small due to the low doses used. Another advantage of this therapy is also simpler irradiation techniques, often we can only make do with one or two input fields. The main principles include the application of the smallest and most effective individual and total doses of radiation with maximum investigation of surrounding healthy tissues. The introduction of the theoretical part contains a brief overview of information on non-cancer radiotherapy and clarifies the non-cancer diseases affected by ionizing radiation treatment. Furthermore, there is characterized by an X-ray machine and general information about X-ray therapy and the method of application of radiation. The second part of the thesis, i.e. the practical part, focuses on the therapy of the heel spurs, or calcar calcanei, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of X-ray therapy after its completion. Respondents are patients who have been irradiated for pat pain with calcar calcanei diagnosis at the Oncology Department of The Hospital České Budějovice a.s. in the period 2019-2020. In this work were used a quantitative type of research investigation and anonymized data from the patient register of the Oncology Department of the Hospital České Budějovice a.s. The overall concept of this bachelor's thesis can serve as study material for students of higher education institutions in the field of radiological assistant and for the creation of an information leaflet for future patients or for the general public.
Christopher Dresser - Life and Work
Bartošová, Kateřina ; Mžyková, Marie (advisor) ; Pučalík, Marek (referee)
The main focus of the bachelor thesis Christopher Dresser - Life and Work is to introduce Christopher Dresser, British designer, one of the first professional industrial designers and a leader of vogue for Japanese-influenced design which inspired Europe in the late 19th- century. Because of the lack of a czech-version-book dedicated to this outstanding artist, I would like to, comprehensively and digestebly, follow Christopher Dresser's life story and work as a possible further basis for such a book; but also as a clue for those who prefers to read in czech. Taxonomy, ecology and palaeogeographical significance of the genus Euorthisima (Brachiopoda) in the Prague Basin
Bartošová, Kateřina ; Mergl, Michal (advisor) ; Sklenář, Jan (referee)
Taxonomic position of the brachiopod genus Euorthisina HAVLÍ EK 1950 from the Ordovician of the Prague Basin (Czech republic) was subjected to wide discussions and disputes in the past. The genus was first classified within the superfamily Syntrophiiacea (order Pentamerida). Later, a separate family Euorthisinidae by Havlí ek (1977) was defined. At present, the family is assigned to the order Orthida and includes genera Euorthisina HAVLÍ EK, 1950, Lesserorthis BENEDETTO, 2007, Notorthisina HAVLÍ EK & BRANISA, 1980 and Protorthisina BENEDETTO, 2007. In this thesis, a revision of genus Euorthisina HAVLÍ EK 1950 with emphasis on taxonomic classification, palaeoecology and palaeogeographic occurrence of species E. moesta and E. minor described from the Ordovician of the Prague Basin has been made. Klí ová slova: Euorthisina, brachiopoda, Ordovician, Prague Basin, Czech republic.
Separatist conflict: comparative study of Sri Lanka and Aceh, Indonesia
Bartošová, Kateřina ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
The aim of the master thesis is to determine factors that contribute to peace settlement of separatist conflicts. It compares two separatist conflicts with different forms of termination. The Indonesian government signed a peace agreement with separatists in province of Aceh and offered them greater autonomy, whereas the government of Sri Lanka decided on military suppression of Tamil separatists. The analysis of the conflicts is based on six factors that are built on the study of Barbara Walter about the concept of reputation building. According to the concept, governments are less likely to go for peace settlement when facing more imperilling separatist groups, seeing that governments have to invest in reputation building. The comparative case study is based on following factors: potential future separatists, value of land currently under dispute, proportion of total population and territory, balance of power between separatists and government, political system with focus on democracy, degree of centralization/ federalism. The evidence seems to be strong that the theory of reputation building does not apply to selected cases because the peace settlement was achieved in Indonesia which has far more potential separatist groups than Sri Lanka. In conclusion, the thesis identifies following factors...
Posttraumatic Growth in Adolescents and Young Adults
Valentová, Hana ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Vágnerová, Marie (referee) ; Bartošová, Kateřina (referee)
The thesis focuses on posttraumatic growth in adolescents and young adults. The subject of the research is finding and tracking reactions and changes that emerge after a specific stimulus - an existentially experienced trauma, where at the core is realizing the threat of life and afterwards thinking about one's own death. The theoretical part deals with psychological and philosophical sources of current concepts of post-traumatic growth. These sources support our assumption that for the specific course of post-traumatic reactions and changes the subject category or objective severity of events is not relevant. It is the respondents own perception of a life threat. We also deal with a particular PTG model by Tedeschi and Calhoun, whose concept of changes after a major life event was chosen as the starting point for our research and whose PTGI questionnaire is used in the quantitative part. In the empirical part we chose mixed research design. First, a quantitative part of the research was carried out, involving 407 respondents aged 17-25. The aim of this part was to determine the rate of post-traumatic growth and to demonstrate that perceived life threats occur among respondents across all event categories. The personal perception of a life threat will result into a higher score achieved in both...
