Last but not least, the theoretical part contains a description of tertiary education and a list of possible stressors that can affect students of undergraduate programmes. The practical part provides an analysis of results from quantitative research conducted in the form of a questionnaire survey. For achievement of the necessary data and information, a qualitative analysis was chosen, which was carried out by the method of questioning using the technique of narrative interview. All interviews were recorded with permission of the communication partners and then rewritten. The obtained data were analyzed in Atlas.ti using open coding. The research sample of communication partners was obtained using snowball sampling. The sample consisted of six clients diagnosed with schizophrenia from the non-profit organization Fokus Tábor. Also, two social workers from the Fokus Tábor organization were questioned for gaining more detailed information. Old age as seen through the eyes of three generations
BROŽKOVÁ, Adéla
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on the old age and ageing as seen through the eyes of three generations. The main objective of this thesis is to compare how particular people from different age groups (age of 20-30 years, 30-50 years, and 50-70 years) perceive their own old age. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and the empirical part. Theoretical part is divided into nine subchapters which deal with specific issues of the old age and associated problems. Empirical part deals with the results of the research undertaken for the purpose of this thesis. The main research question was: "In what aspects the view of old age among the generations differs most markedly? " For obtaining the necessary information, the strategy of qualitative research was chosen and performed with the using of open coding. The data were collected through the semi-structured interviews and the research sample was selected by using purpose quota selection. The research participants were people from different age groups age of 20-30 years, 30-50 years, and 50-70 years. The research sample consisted of twelve participants who were willing to participate in the research. The research was performed in two phases preliminary research and research itself. The interviews were recorded on a dictaphone and transcribed verbatim. The data were analysed with the using of categorization. Based on the research, the view of old age is most markedly different between the age groups 20-30 years and 50-70 years. The age group 30 -50 years in most cases agreed either with younger or older age group. The greatest differences of opinion among particular generations were in the questions of how retirees perceive today's young generation, in the view of need for education of retirees, further also in the opinions regarding the employment opportunity for elderly people or how society treats the elderly people. The results of this bachelor´s thesis can be used to provide insight of how people see the old age and to increase the general awareness of how to work and deal better with the elderly. This thesis can also serve as educational material for students and teachers.
