Training optimization of swimming of school-age children
Hudcová, Stanislava ; Čechovská, Irena (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Subject matter: Training optimization of swimming of school-age children Objectives: The main goal of this research work is to suggest a model of advanced swimming training lessons with school-age children. Swimming training is practised in deep swimming pool. Next goal is to create an inventory of games and game disciplines which are suitable for training in deep water. Through the analysis of specialized literature and realization of experimental education we will be able to formulate new pieces of knowledge and introduce practical experience as a recommendation for practice. Method: The research work will observe swimming skills of school-age children within the advanced swimming training. The method of direct participant observation, measurement and scaling will be used. Results: Check on a model training we find out that advanced swimming trainning practised in deep water requires modifications of didactic methods of swimming skill training and swimming locomotion. Constant training of basic swimming skills, well- considered practises on a shore, motivational games and game disciplines are considered as the most important on the advanced swimming training. Key words: advanced swimming training, games, game disciplines, deep swimming pool/water, unsuitable swimming conditions
Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment
Sedláková, Barbora ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Title: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment Objectives: The aim of this study was to determinate whether spontaneous activity of lower limb in the aquatic environment enable to determinate preferred swimming stroke of an individual. Also, whether identified asymmetry of the lower limbs during treading water depend on passive range of hip joints. Methods: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position with a hands and head out of water was recorded on video. Passive intra/extrarotion, flexion, extension, abduction in hip joints were measured using mechanical two-arm goniometer. Qualitative analysis of spontaneous activity of lower limbs recorded on video was conducted using Kinovea 0.8.15. Results: According to the results of our work, it can not be said that the preferred swimming stroke can be determined on the basis of the spontaneous activity of the lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment. We can assume that the individual chose the pattern of treading water according to an energetically economical way while minimizing resistive forces and not in pursuance of preferred swimming stroke. Bilateral asymmetry (left-right) during the water treading movement was detected in the whole group. The most significant...
Optimal Parameters for Barrier-free Indoor Swimming Pools /Focusing on the Needs of Pepople with Limited Motion and Orientation Abilities.
Hajdů, Jaroslav ; Kovařovic, Karel (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Subject: Optimal Parameters for Barrier-free Indoor Swimming Pools Focusing on the Needs of People with Limited Motion and Orientation Abilities. Objectives of the thesis: The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the optimal parameters of barier - free indoor swimming pools taking into account the requirements of persons with reduced mobility and orientation; based on the needs of these persons and the current legal standards to list the parameters for the construction and evaluation of swimming facilities in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, to find out views on this topic in the students of the faculties of building. Methods: A questionnaire survey of selected population will be carried out. Furthermore, the methods of a semistandardized interview will be used and a field research in the monitored objects will be implemented. Results: The results will confirm or disprove the predetermined hypotheses and will contribute to understanding the issues. A basis for creating an optimal barrier-free project will be made. Keywords: barrier-free environment, swimming pool, visual impairment, physical handicap 3

Application of backstroke to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis
Horničárová, Eva ; Břečková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Čechovská, Irena (referee)
Title: Application of backstroke to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the application of backstroke with chosen parameters to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis. To compare the effectiveness of this swimming exercise programme with a traditional exercise programme held in a gymnasium. This work investigates whether it is suitable to recommend backstroke swimming to patients with ankylosing spondylitis as an effective form of physical exercise for improving range of movements and reducing pain. Methods: The effectiveness of a 9 week long swimming programme was evaluated using a range of movements of the glenohumeral and coxal joints and of the spine. The presence of pain was measured by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Diasese Activity Index. The same parameters were measured for another patient with the similar activity of the disease who took part in group exercises in a gymnasium. At the end of the programmes the parameters were compared and evaluated. Results: The swimming programme has improved the patient's posture and has strengthened back muscles. Pain was reduced in some parts of the back and also general pain measured by BASDAI. The range of movements of both glenohumeral joints improved in all measured directions. The range of movements...
The influence of water activity on respiration behaviour of women after breast ablation
Černá, Tereza ; Čechovská, Irena (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Title: The influence of water activity on respiration behaviour of women after breast ablation. Aim: We aim to design and verify a programme of water exercises for women after breast ablation which would have a positive influence on their health. In our pedagogical experiment we want to discover the effect of breathing exercises in water environment on respiration capacity and strength of respiration muscles (inspiration and expiration muscles). Methods: Sociological research was used in order to find suitable probands. The examination of functions of respiration muscles was used in order to evaluate strength of respiration muscles. We measured strength of respiration muscles (inspiration PI max and expiration muscles PE max). Spirometry testing, volume-time curve and a flow-volume loop, set values for inspiration (VCinsp) and expiration (VCexp). The examination was carried out in Krajska zdravotni a.s, Usti nad Labem at the department of Functional Diagnostic. Results were evaluated by statistic program STATIS TICA. We used describing statistics, categorization, data analysis, t-tests, Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney testing. Conclusion: Water activity related to breast exercises had a positive influence on values of PI max, VC insp a VC exp which demonstrate results of Wilcoxon test. Some differences...
Swimming for the physically handicapped - characteristic of the present state in Czech Republic and Great Britain
Kantorová, Lucie ; Břečková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Kovařovic, Karel (referee)
Goals: The main aim is to map and characterize current situation of The swimming for the physically disabled in Czech Republic and Great Britain. To provide information about the identity or difference of working with swimmers with physical disabilities in both countries, in terms of content, organizational, safety and personnel. To draw conclusions and to propose possible changes and recommendations for optimization and improvement of the state while swimming with people with disabilities in Czech Republic based on these information. Methods: The method of quality, analysis and subsequent synthesis, comparative method, visiting activities and observations have been used. Information was drawn from Czech and foreign literature, as well as from Czech and foreign web sites. Some facilities were visited personally, the others were contacted throughout the internet. Results: This work focuses on content of the methods used for swimming of the persons with disabilities in both countries and compares them, further evaluate and compare the swimming centers in both countries according to set criteria. The criteria that should be meet by the coach who works with physically disabled swimmers can be learned in this diploma, and are also valid for both countries. The work introduces the various organizations,...
