Qvestions concerning elementary scholarship in reflection of school chronikles ZŠ U Santošky (1897-1948)

Questions Concerning Elementary Education in Reflection of School Chronicles ZŠ U Santošky 1 (1897-1939) Abstract The focus of this Bachelor's thesis is to comprehend the development of general education in the years 1867 - 1939 in the context of school chronicles from elementary school U Santošky 1 which history illustrates the general scheme. First chapter describes theresian education together with the development of education in Smíchov until 1897, when IVth general school for boys and girls in Smíchov was founded (today elementary school U Santošky 1). The following chapter describes the characteristics of general education and the changes that were applied during the era. The third chapter focuses on changes and development since the foundation of the independent Czechoslovakia until the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was established. Decline of the Czech teacher's elite 1945-1955

This dissertation focuses on history of czech teachers, primarily high school teachers. The idea is to originate everything from the basics of history that is traditionally in rythm with political changes. This thesis is focused on deeper understanding of transformation of czech education, changes and developpement of one multilayered professional status or in the end a change of czech society in the first half of the 20th century. The time period between 1945 and 1955 is well known for its political, bussines and economic transitions. The main focus of this disertation is to show from the history of teachers which they are related to the teaching laws, the big modification that has happened at the time period. Concrete examples are presented in a detailed developpements which are different between inland and borderline gymnasiums and the way the teaching is conducted. This disertation offers complete picture of this topic, that is until now processed only in ideologically orientated publications. Historian Karel Kazbunda and his native Town of Jičín

The name of Karel Kazbunda (1888 Jicin - 1982 Jicin), the Czech historian and archivist, is known only by a few professionals today. A graduate in history and geography at the Faculty of Philosophy in Prague, he collaborated in the Czechoslovak-Austrian separation of archives after World War One, when he also undertook an in-depth study into the Viennese archives and copied thousands of pages of archive documents. Because of this, he became one of the greatest experts in Austrian and Czech history in the latter half of the 19th century, and focused on the journalist Karel Havlicek Borovsky. While employed in the Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague, he gave lectures as a private tutor at Charles' University. He published several professional studies. His most important books are The Czech Movement of 1848 (České hnutí 1848), and three volumes of the Chair in History at Prague University (Stolice dějin na pražské univerzitě). However, most of his work remained in manuscript form. Only some of them were published after his death. This Master's thesis emphasises Kazbunda's close affinity with his native town, describes the environment in which he grew up - the Grammar school and the Academic Readers' Union student association (Akademická čtenářská jednota) and provides hitherto little-known...
