Weight modification through workout plans
Libá, Martina ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Česák, Petr (referee)
Title: Weight modification through workout plans Aim: To determine how active lifestyle affects weight, fitness, physiological parameters (percentage of body fat, body water percentage, blood pressure) of individuals of different age and sex groups with no previous sports experience Method: The study will be carried out on healthy individuals, in four major age groups (20 - 35, 36 - 50, 51 - 65, 66 - 80). Both male and female individuals shall be monitored. All of them shall take part in a two-month work out plan, which will include both physical fitness training and muscle imbalance correction, as well as active and passive rest, while living a healthy lifestyle. Results: The result is a list of workout plans and their subsequent evaluation. Whether condition improved, weight and fitness. Conclusion: The success of intervention depends on the cooperation, time availability, but especially on the actual realization of the suggested work out plans. Keywords: Physical fitness, body fat percentage, body water percentage, body weight, nutrition, muscle imbalance, heart rate
The exercise program for patients with narcolepsy
Popelková, Daniela ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Česák, Petr (referee)
Title: The exercise program for patients with narcolepsy Objectives: The aim of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of exercise intervention in a group of nine selected patients with narcolepsy. Methods: Measurements of body composition by electrical bioimpedence and measurement of functional capacity by spiroergometry were used for data acquisition. Further survey was used to obtain information on subjective feelings of patients and their motion mode. Results: Patients were able to complete a program of exercise intervention. After completing the program, five of the nine patients had a lower weight of 0.4 to 10.6 kg, while seven of the nine patients significantly improved cardiorespiratory fitness differences in VO2 peak values of 1.5 - 10 ml / min.kg. Only some patients maintained an exercise mode after completion of the intervention program. Keywords: The exercise program, narcolepsy, obesity, lifestyle diseases, quality of Life
Comparison of body composition of soccer players according to their players' post
Česák, Petr ; Malá, Lucia (advisor) ; Malý, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Comparison of body composition of soccer players according to their players' post Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine the body composition of soccer players according to their post and to compare these data with the results of similar testing taken in foreign countries. Methods: 45 players participated in the testing in total. The machine of bioelectrical impedance BIA 2000 M was used for the detection of the body composition and the gained data were further proceeded in the programme NUTRI 4. The observed parameters were a percentage of body fat, an absolute amount of fat mass, fat-free and intracellular tissue. For the process of the statistic data (arithmetic average, BMI, standard deviation, tables and graphs) the programme Microsoft Excel 2007 was used. Results: The players of both Czech clubs have a typical body composition for top athletes. It was found out that the goalkeepers have the highest percentage of body fat out of all measured players. Defenders were proved to have the least percentage of body fat among all the measured players. Keywords: Soccer, player posts, body composition, bio impedance
Motion intervention as a means of prevention of football injuries
Vinecký, Petr ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Česák, Petr (referee)
Title: Motion intervention as a means of prevention of football injuries Objectives: The goal of this work has been to discover the rate of influence of preventive actions on the appearance of football injuries of the players of the youth team. Methods: Non-standardized questionnaire including fifteen structured and unstructured items has been used for the completion of this paper. The goal has been to monitor the injury rate to football players in connection to the amount of preceding prevention. Results: It has been established that the majority of players sustained more than one injury in the course of their career, and that notwithstanding their use of post- match regeneration. Keywords: motion intervention - prevention - regeneration - fatigue - injury
Body Composition and Motor Performance of Roma Children in the Most District
Česák, Petr ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Havel, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kutáč, Petr (referee)
Title: Body Composition and Motor Performance of Roma Children in the Most District Background: The Roma way of life, or rather the values they live up to, is different from the values and way of life of the majority population. This results in a lower life expectancy of the Roma and a worse social position in Czech society, even in total social exclusion. Since the individual's lifestyle evolves from childhood on, we focused on assessing the lifestyle using several parameters of body composition and motor performance of Roma children in socially excluded Roma localities Aims: The aim of this thesis is to find out the influence of the lifestyle of Roma children living in socially excluded Roma localities in the Most district on their body composition and motor performance. The second goal is to compare the body composition and motor performance of the children from majority population and socially excluded children from the Most district with the Czech children population standards. Methods: In total 733 children 7-15 years of age participated in the study, of which 448 were from majority population of the Most district (221 girls and 227 boys) and 285 children were from socially excluded Roma localities in the Most district (124 girls and 161 boys). Bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA 2000 M...
Body composition in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies
Mareček, Ondřej ; Česák, Petr (advisor) ; Kinkorová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Body composition in patients with idiopatic inflammatory myopathies Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare selected parameters of body composition in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) with age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HC). Another objective was to evaluate the effect of selected clinical parameters in patients with IIM on the detectedvariability of the parameters of body composition and on physical activity of patients. Methods: The research sample consisted of 84 individuals (54 IIM, 30 HC). In anthropometry, we measured: body height (cm), weight (kg) and BMI (kg/m2 ). Using bioelectrical impedance analysis BIA 2000-M we obtained values: total body water (TBW in%), muscle mass (LBM in kg), body fat (BF in%) cell mass of lean body mass (BCM of FFM in%), and the proportion of extracellular/intracellular matrix (ECM/BCM). Using Lunar series iDXA we obtained values: muscle mass (LBM in kg), body fat (BF in %), bone mineral density (BMD in g/cm3 ), and visceral fat (Visceral in kg). To these measured values we added a questionnaire on physical activity Human Acitvity Profile (HAP). Statistics: T-test, Mann Whitney U test, Cohen's d, and Partialeta-squared. Results: Selected values (mean ± SD): body height: IIM 164.7 ± 9.1 cm, HC 170.3 ± 7 cm; body weight:...
Nutritional strategy for long-distance cross-country skiers
Opočenská, Tereza ; Česák, Petr (advisor) ; Šimková, Michaela (referee)
Title: Nutritional strategy for long-distance cross-country skiers Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to answer as the clearest as possible the following research questions: 1. How appropriate diet affects the internal environment of the body long-distance cross-country skiers? 2. What composition of the diet and supplements is most suitable for long-distance cross-country skiers? 3. When to start eating regime that will help competitors prepare the body for the completion of remote cross-country skiing? Methods: We used the research of czech and foreign literature. We searched the scientific studies related to our theme through the service Google Scholar. We also drew from licensed Internet databases (PubMed, SPORTDiscus, Scopus, ProQuest, OvidSP, JSTOR). Results: We found that long-distance cross-country skiers should follow the macronutrients and micronutrients content in connection with food intake. The ratios of nutrients taken depends on whether it is a period before the race, during the race or after its completion. However, a key role in all three phases perform carbohydrates. Optimal nutrition strategy should start no later than 1-3 days before the race. Keywords: sport, exercise, cross-country skiing, nutrition, food supplements, endurance, performance
