Design of small reservoirs and flood protection
Pikna, Martin ; Kozák, Jan (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of the flood protection of the village Hrušky (Vyškov district). The hydraulic analysis of the water flow on the rivers Litava (river station km 19,460 - 20,928) and Rakovec (river station km 0,000 - 0,638) was done. The hydraulic analysis was performed on the Q5, Q20 and Q100 flows. For analysis was used a 2D numerical flow model in HEC-RAS 5.0.6. Based on results was designed a flood protection including a dry reservoir. The input data for the diploma thesis was the 2013 study „Litava II – přírodě blízká protipovodňová opatření a obnova přirozené hydromorfologie a retenční kapacity toku a nivy v úseku ř. km 16,0 (Újezd u Brna) až ř. km 24,0 (Slavkov u Brna)“. The diploma thesis was processed as a real project in the design office of Regioprojekt Brno, s.r.o.
River training of a small watercourse in the Morava River Basin
Filipi, Josef ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Uhmannová, Hana (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate possible solutions of the river Svratka silting by the historical development from the 70s to the present. Part of this thesis is devoted to assessing the state of the watercourse in the area of interest, the assessment of flow capacity and design parameters that were used for the initial treatment course. The outcome of this thesis is to identify the causes of riverbed silting, creation of a conceptual design modification of the streambed and measures to limit the rate of canal silting. Custom design is supported by the hydrotechnical calculations.
River adaptation with Civil 3D and HEC-RAS
Filípková, Monika ; Julínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the current state of the selected section of the Morava river around the city of Olomouc and the subsequent modification and desing of the flood protection. In the first step, hydraulic flow verification using CIVIL 3D and HEC – RAS is performed. Based on the results of the 1D model, proposal river adaptation is then also executed with the aim to incerase the flow capacity and to reduce the water effusion.
River regulation and design of flood protection
Gřegoř, Adam ; Julínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with designing flood protection on the watercourse Velička (tributary of the river Bečva), which is situated in the area of Hranice municipality. The flow modelling was done as 1D surface water HEC-RAS model. Two options of flood protection were designed based on the size of the flood areas that occured during flood flows Q5, Q20 and Q100. The first option did not consider the usage of Lhotka dry pond. The second option considered the usage of Lhotka dry pond, which was designed in the study made by AgPOL s.r.o. firm to the north of Hranice and which transforms flood flows. The result of the bachelor’s thesis are maps of flood areas that occured during the flood flows Q5, Q20 and Q100 after the implementation of flood protection options. In conclusion, the suitability of the flood protection options is evaluated.
River management with regards to flood protection and revitalisation
Pastorková, Nikola ; Petrula, Lubomír (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The theme of this bachelor thesis is the hydraulic assessment of water flow capacity in the river kilometer 12,227 – 17,979, at flows Q5, Q20 and Q100 using 1D and 2D model in the program HEC-RAS 5.0.7. From the results of the overflows, flood protection measures have been proposed in two locations in the urban area and the revitalization of the stream has been also proposed. Furthermore, a hydraulic verification of the flood protection design took place.
The use of GIS for the design of blue-green infrastructure
Indrová, Gabriela ; Dráb, Aleš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the description of blue-green infrastructure and its elements. A number of good examples from Czech Republic and abroad are presented. It is followed by an introduction to the GIS software, where are described the basic tools and analyses, together with possible applications. The last part of this work deals with a selected location. In conclusion, for this location were created cartographic outputs describing the existing and planned MZI.
Renovation of a water reservoir in the village of Žďárná
Pastorková, Nikola ; Krčma, Marek (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The theme of this diploma thesis is to restore the existing small reservoir in the village Žďárná. A new safety spillway and bottom outlet will be built, the flood will be shaped according to the cross-sections and the dam of the water reservoir will be fortified. The designed objects will be hydraulically verified. Using the HEC-HMS program, a hydrological model of the river basin is created and subsequently a derived flood wave PV20.
River regulation with flood protection and revitalization
Kadrnoška, Jakub ; Smelík, Lukáš (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the design of the flow adjustment, taking into account the flood protection and revitalization of the Leskava river. The first step is creating a computing model of a river section using the programme HEC_RAS. Based on results and the course, there is an adjustment proposed and the prevention of infiltrations in the intravilan.
Assessment of the water flow in the Vltava river basin
Černý, David ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Uhmannová, Hana (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis includes the assessment of the current state of the channel Drnový potok as well as the objects in the solved section from river km 5,972 to river km 7,021. The 1D mathematical model HEC-RAS version 4.1.0 is used for the calculation of the course of level and for the assessment of the channel capacity, including the objects connected to it. The work also deals with the ideological proposal of near natural flood protection measures in the municipality of the village Luby on the design discharge Qn = Q20 = 51,80 m3/s.
The use of BIM in water management work
Chládová, Zuzana ; Remeš, Josef (referee) ; Duchan, David (advisor)
This diploma thesis addresses Building Information Management (BIM) and its application in water management. The basis of the work is broad research on BIM. Subsequently, the application of BIM is demonstrated in the construction of a small hydroelectric power plant in the Litovel water management node. To conclude, the added value of using BIM and its possible disadvantages for water management are formulated.
