Pravděpodobnostní modely a metody pro analýzu sportovních výsledků
Rambousková, Daniela ; Saxl, Ivan (oponent) ; Volf, Petr (vedoucí práce)
The statistical modelling on a sports field is in the process of a great development. Sports clubs have gradually changed into commercial companies and thus many possibilities how to take advantages of statistical instruments have emerged. Undoubtedly, the most popular task is the prediction of possible future results. The first part of this thesis summarizes the most interesting methods and types of solutions that were developed primarily for football matches. In this case the Poissons' regression models are mainly used. However, when the influences of time are taken into consideration, these models become more difficult and complicated for computations. The second part deals with the statistical survival analysis and random point processes and tries to find its utilization and connection with the predictions of the results of sports matches. On the basis of the Cox' regression model, a simple model for ice-hockey matches is derived here. This model estimates offensive and defensive forces of every team and other influences, for instance power plays and home environment. It describes the match as a random point process, where the time of scoring represents its random points. The model is applied on the data obtained from the first thirteen rounds of the Czech National Ice-hockey League and the received...

i SUMMARY OF RESULTS The thesissumsup the resultsof threeprojectsI was involvedin duringmy PhD study.Specifically, I adressedthe putativeeffect of sand fly salivary hyaluronidaseon transmissionandestablishmentof kishmania infection. The secondprojectwasdealingwith thekineticsof anti-salivaantibodyresponsein dogsexposedto Lutzomyialongipalpissutd flies andwith the characterizationof salivaryantigensrecognizedby thesedogs. Finally, I constructedand annotateda cDNA library from Phlebotomusarabicas and characterized P. arabicus sďivary antigensreactingwith arrtibodiesof mice exposedto this sand fly species.Theresultsofthe projectsaÍebrieflyoutlinedhere. We detectedhyaluronidaseactivity in saliva of various bloodsuckingDipter4 includingsandflies. In coinoculationexperimentswith BALB/o mice we proveda positive conelationbetweenthe size of the cutaneouslesion causedby Leishmaniamajor andthe presenceofhyaluronidasein theinfectiveinoculum. In hyďuronidase-coinoculatedmice,the lesionsweresigniÍicantlylargerfromweek3 postinfection(infectiondosel05 parasites)or week 4 (infection dose 10"). On the other hand, hyaluronidasedid not affect early viscerďizationof L. majorat24 hrspostinfection. Thus,we demonstratedthathya|uronidase promotes Leishmania establishment in murine skin and we hypothesize that immunomodulatoryeffectsof...

The Use of Artificial Intelligence on Commodity Markets
Volf, Petr ; Geroč, Ján (oponent) ; Dostál, Petr (vedoucí práce)
This master thesis focuses on the problem of trading on commodity markets. The solution of the problem is designed using the artificial intelligence, specifically neural networks, to determine the trend of a selected commodity price and predict the price movement in the future to support investment decision. The model of the neural network is created and used for prediction in the MATLAB program.
