Annotation: The thesis includes both theory and original research. It focuses on a pupil in early childhood in the context of social group and school classroom. The thesis deals with the relationship between a pupil's classroom status and his academic results. The conclusions are based on the results of research of primary school pupils.

Diplomová práce s názvem Multikulturní výchova je práce pojednávající o postavení společnosti k problémům multikulturality, o integraci, o zařazování multikulturního vzdělání do kontextu českého školství, o pomoci minoritám. Je to také práce mapující jeden den v základní škole se zaměřením na multikulturní výchovu. Charakter práce je teoreticko-empirický. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. Do části teoretické a do části praktické. V první teoretické části jsou tři kapitoly zabývající se pojmy multikulturní výchovy, dále podmínkami realizace multikulturní společnosti v praxi, třetí kapitola mapuje organizace a společnosti pro podporu multikulturní společnosti. V druhé praktické části jsou kapitoly o hlavních přípravách a seznámení se s účastníky projektu, kapitola samotného projektu a kapitola o tom, jak by to všechno ještě šlo udělat jinak. Problems of integration of Vietnamese children in to elementary school

The first part of my diploma work is focused on the problems of the Vietnamese minority as a specific part of the civil society. From identifying of the key terms refering to multiculturality and multucultural education in the Czech republic and involving also the global education linkage. It provides also basic informations on Vietnam (VSR), its history, past and current political and cultural situation and deals briefly with the Czech - Vietnamese relationships. It includes basic informations on the Vietnamese immigrants, their current life conditions in the Czech republic and it concerns the question of their integration into the Czech society. The objective of the practical part of the diploma work is to ascertain among the teachers of the chosen elementary schools what is the level of Czech language knowledge of the pupils of Vietnamese origin, how they succs in the school work and what is their status in the class. Another objective of the work is to ascertain among teachers if they use the multicultural topics together with the teaching methods during their lessons. And to find out how the Vietnamese children perceive themselves in relation to the Czech language, school-mades and school work.

The theme of this dissertation is social and physical environment of classrooms and schools. The theoretical part characterizes the educational environment and briefly describes psychosocial climate investigation methods at elementary schools. The practical part explores actual social climate using standardized questionaire "My class Inventory - Actual form" and physical climate using author's original questionaire, evaluating acquired results.

The theoretical part of my thesis focuses on the issue of social climate of a school class, on social position of the pupil within the class as well as on the interaction between the individual and the group. The research is based on the findings concerning pupils of a particular 5th grade of the elementary school and their perception of the current climate of their class and the structure of mutual relationships between the pupils. Moreover it is based on the position status of a particular individual in the class, his case study and activities aimed at reinforcement of positive tendencies in mutual relationships.

Základní škola pokládá základy vzdělání pro budoucí život. Děti se tu učí nejen matematiku, český jazyk, a další důležité předměty, ale také jak se chovat mezi lidmi. Základy sociálních dovedností a vědomostí, které dítě v budoucím životě potřebuje, jsou pokládány právě tady. Často je škola pro dítě prvním místem, kde se setká a poprvé jedná se svými vrstevníky a zkušenosti takto získané potom využívá celý život v zaměstnání, v rodině, mezi přáteli. The thesis focuses on the problems of integration of pupils with the special educational needs into the mainstream schools. It deals with the terminology connected with this topic and law adjustment of the integration in the Czech Republic. The thesis analyses the meaning, contribution and obstacles in the process of the integration at school, describes the conditions and competencies of the relevant factors. The aim of the research is to find out and compare opinions, pieces of experience and needs of integrating teachers in the sphere of the integration of pupils with the special educational needs into the mainstream schools. The thesis is determined to beginning teachers.
