Knowledge management and its application in human resource management
Běhounková, Olga ; Tureckiová, Michaela (advisor) ; Beneš, Milan (referee) ; Plamínek, Jiří (referee)
This doctoral thesis proposes to specify a relatively new managerial discipline - Knowledge Management (KM) in a different way than it is done in an accessible literature. Nowadays, KM represents a wide and intensively discussed topic with many critics as well as advocates. Above all, it is a practical discipline that came out of practice and it is inseparably connected with it. Intangible (knowledge) assets are its main essence. KM is a complex process that must be supported by a strong foundation of enablers. The enablers for KM are corporate strategy and culture, team work, informal networking, measurement, and technology. Each of these must be designed and managed together with the others and supported by organizational process. The process usually involves several of the following stages or sub-processes in the use of knowledge: to create, identify, formalize, organize, disseminate, share, adapt, use and evaluate it. Effective implementation of KM brings the right knowledge to the right associates on time and in the right form to the organization. The thesis consists of four chapters. The first and second part are focused on the theoretical definitions of KM bases and terminology, explicitly "organization", "management", "manager" and "knowledge", i. e. from different point of view together with an...

Change of theatre management
Němečková, Tereza ; PROKOP, Petr (advisor) ; PLAMÍNEK, Jiří (referee)
In which way lead a successful change of theatre management? This research question has stood at the beginning of my diploma thesis. The role of a theatre manager and its managerial features are concerned in this paper. I trace a process of change in a theatre management in tree case studies (the theatres "Na zábradlí", "pod Palmovkou" and "na Vinohradech"). The findings are analysed in the context of artistic, public, but also commercial sector. The case works serve as a means of formulation of so called "Lessons Learned": generalisations of key moments and barriers of successful change which are derived form concrete cases. The need of managerial approach in a theatre management results from the problems described above. The aim of this thesis is to argue for such an approach which understands management as a particular proficiency with its regular place within the art world. Since the environment of subsidized organisations is concerned, it is important not to omit the influence of founder as an agent of change. I assume, that we will face up to open competitions for theatre directors instead of system changes. The crucial aim of this thesis is to identify a process of change, to apprehend its critical points and offer some possible solutions. The second aim is to contribute to a debate on the need of managerial approach in a management of art organisations.
