Selection of audiovisual works on Czech music scene after 2000

The thesis ?Selection of audiovisual works on the Czech music scene after 2000? explores the visual presentation of musical groups and on the field of electronic music. The first part is dedicated to VJing, its origin and historical context. Also solves his position and demarcation on the art scene, expressive practices and means of expression. The second part describes the three major Czech music artists who are interested in conceptual audiovisual stage presentation throughout their whole existence. In the text is also presented the Festival of Animated Film in Olomouc and Akropolis Multimediale as two major platforms dealing with live animation. The conclusion offers insights into the financial and legal aspects of both topics and includes an analysis of research about the relationship between music groups to stage presentation.
Legal disputes in the audiovisual sector

The content of this work is a brief overview of legal disputes in the area of audiovisual production. First chapter contains an introduction into relevant legal norms and theoretically defines legal disputes. Second chapter focuses on the analysis of selected areas of disputes, which are defined in legal terms and accompanied by practical examples. Disputes arising from personal rights, intellectual property rights and contractual obligations are considered principal in this section. Third chapter summarizes certain ways of legal disputes settlement, with emphasis on civil lawsuit. The subchapter about civil lawsuit describes the most frequent legal claims, with mentioning practical examples. Marginally mentioned are also alternative ways of disputes settlement and the institute of preliminary injunctions in civil lawsuit.
Product Placement in the Czech Television Milieu

The diploma thesis concerns with the actual problems of product placement in the Czech television milieu. The works examines the conditions of this milieu for the application of PP and the approach of the particular televison channels to its future use. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter illuminates the goals of the thesis and the metodology of getting information. The second chapter brings theoretical background to the problems of PP. The next chapter analyzes general conditions in which PP works in the Czech television milieu. The chapter four brings the analysis of the PP-process in the television background and the last chapter describes the approach of the particular televison channels to PP and their programme possibilities for product placement.
Legal aspects of the development

The aim of the thesis is to analyse legal situations, which may arise during the literary part of development - that is the creation of a script or conception of television series or other television program. The first part is concerned with licence agreements. It describes the conclusion of a licence agreement and analyses the particulars of the agreement. This part also deals with specific legal regulation of audiovisual works. The second part is concerned with the particular possibilities of buying out licences to finished scripts, as well as to partly completed scripts and custom-made scripts. One of the chapters also addresses the distinctions in the development of a television series and other television program. The viewpoint of the thesis is predominantly one of a producer, however, the last chapter also includes the examination of the protection of rights of a scriptwriter. The focus of the third part is on further authors who can participate on the development of a script, and eventually on television series or other television program and with whom it is therefore necessary to conclude licence agreements. This part of the thesis is also concerned with the specifics of the film adaptation and the author?s translation. The fourth part deals with contracts for work and also addresses the legal regulation of a custom-made work in accordance with the Copyright Act. The fifth part describes the problematic position of a theme in the Czech law. It contains some of the possibilities of its protection as well as the protection of the conception of a television programme or a serial story. This part also includes a brief research. The final part refers to the possible consequences of an insufficient legal settlement of copyright. It also elaborates the potential conscious and unconscious interventions of the script into the right of privacy and its legal consequences.
Intellectual Property Law and Film

The main goal of this master thesis is to define the basic terms of intellectual property law, which have respect to the audiovisual works and the fixations of films, and after it on the base of the directives of European Community to explain the relation of the Czech legal framework, as a member state of the European Union, to the law of the EC. The interpretation of some judgements of the European Court of Justice, which refers to the main topic of this thesis, audiovisual works and fixations of films, should help to the reaching of the aim as well.

Scenic music in theatre performances

Scenic music may be conceived not only as a special artistic phenomenon intervening the area of theatre and music, but also as a quite complicated legal category. The point of my thesis is to appreciate and define scenic music in the eye of arts, theory and law, and then to entitle and analyze problems caused by differences among approaches of particular academic branches and also by insufficient or unsuitable legal regulations inductive of complications or vagueness in the course of rules of law aplication in day-to-day theatrical practice. The accent si preferably put on the most exact submission of scenic music into the theoretic frame, which is able to distinguish scenic music used in a theatre performance from a music part of a musical-dramatical piece. The focus point consists in the composer of scenic music and also in his relationship to the director of a theatre performance and to the theatre instituition. The thesis tries to clasifficate and categorize scenic music from the eye of several kinds of licencing. The closing chapters follow modifications of scenic music and the question of collectiv licencing.
