TITLE: The Scottish Enlightenment: How Faith and Beauty born Science and Capitalism AUTHOR: Ondřej Čapek DEPARTMENT: Social Sciences and Philosophy Department, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague SUPERVISOR: doc. Karel Thein, PhD. ABSTRACT: Thesis is focused on the Scottish Enlightenment (1707 - 1789), which is characterized as the period of economic prosperity based on the massive development of agriculture, education and trade inside the nascent British Empire. The emergence of individualism and the optimistic view of human nature are typical for the period. The thesis investigates the ancient roots of individualism (Plato, Stoicism) and European individualistic authors: Machiavelli, Montesquieu and Mandeville. The influence of the works of Isaac Newton on new methodology of social sciences is analyzed in details. Analysis of new social sciences is devoted to the theory of social stages, economics, jurisprudence and historiographical revolution in Scotland, with an emphasis on the description of a new approach of data mining inspired by Francis Bacon. The work also deals with Shaftesbury, Locke and especially Ferguson's aesthetic theory and the theory of moral sentiments. The renewal of heart (Comparison of Jer 31:31-34 and Eze 36:23-28)

This paper comaprates two passages - Jer 31:31-34 and Eze 36:23-28 - which are very close to each other. Both are prophetic speeches to the house of Israel and their key themes are covenant and renewal of heart. First, the biblical term ble heart is analysed, then the exegesis of both passages is proceeded with the use of common dictionaries (TDOT, HALOT) and commentaries (AB, Jerome's Biblical Commentary, WBC). Then a comparation of the passages is made, considering also comparation of the whole books. Finaly the paper confronts its outcome with the document of PBC: The Jewish People and their Sacred Scriptures in the Christian Bible, which tracts this subject shortly. JavaFX2 and Swing

The bachelor thesis deals mainly with the JavaFX2 library and its innovations. An aim is to acquaint readers with wider possibilities and help them with a transition from Swing to JavaFX2. In the thesis there are gone into benefits JavaFX2 which is accompanied by a source code examples for an illustration. A part of the thesis is also an application which shows differences between Swing and JavaFX2 both a graphical view as well as a viewing of the source code. Most of the information contained in this work is also on a web site http://www.javafx2-swing.cz/, which serves as a guide for JavaFX2 library and where it is possible to download the application. The work is begun with an explaining a JavaFX platform. Then there is mentioned JavaFX2 benefits which enrich a programming in Java. The following chapter contains the basic components of JavaFX2 library. Finally graphical innovations including 3D are described. The work is finished by differences between Swing and JavaFX2 components and a cooperation of these two environments.

Government Interventions during the economic crisis

The main goal of the diploma thesis is the analyse of government interventions during the economic crisis and the evaluation of the efficiency on the example of the economy of Unites States of America. The thesis is divided into three main parts: Part I is a theoretical approach to the interventions and focuses on the impact of monetary and fiscal tools. Part II analysis the fundamental background of the crisis with the empasis on unique circumstances. Part III is the longest shows the real interventions on the example of USA and analysis the success of them. At the very end of the thesis is a comparison of the interventions with the European Union.
