Abstrakt: Before the birth of the State of Israel, Palestine has been ruled under the British Mandate. In 1947, during deep financial crisis in the United Kingdom, the British government decided to pass the Palestine question to the United Nations. After first series of conflicts at the end of forties, the situation changed in 1955, when the Soviet and Egyptian government set up an agreement about armament supplies. One year after the second Israeli-Arab war took place; it ended with the military victory of Israeli, French and British armies. Despite this fact both the United States and the Soviet Union condemned them as the aggressors. The third Israeli-Arab war, in 1967, passed without direct influence of the great powers but had serious consequences as well.
