Tématem této disertační práce je myšlení ve vztazích k inferenci, resp. k usuzování, a k řeči. Hlavním teoretickým východiskem je inferencialismus Roberta Brandoma a hlavním cílem je na pozadí inferencialistické teorie, chápané zde primárně jako model řečových praktik, vyložit myšlení, chápané primárně jako činnost či proces. Inference je tak tématem jak ve smyslu činnosti usuzování, tak ve smyslu inferencialistického výkladu jazykového významu a řečových praktik. Vztah myšlení k řeči je zde od počátku chápan jako zásadní, což se ukazuje už na záměru zkoumat myšlení právě v rámci teorie řečových praktik. Cílem tedy je explikovat tyto naznačené souvislosti. Inferencialismus lze chápat v první řadě jako druh teorií významu, které vycházejí od inference, a nikoli, jako četné jiné teorie, od reprezentace. Ta tak podle inferencialismu není něco, co lze použít pro výklad významu, ale naopak něco, co samo potřebuje netriviální vysvětlení. Dalším podstatným rysem Brandomova inferencialismu je přednost vět před jednotlivými výrazy, neboť věty jsou nejmenšími jednotkami, kterými lze něco tvrdit, tedy za které lze být odpovědný (proto také jde o normativní inferencialismus), a které mají přímou inferenční roli, tj. jsou v inferenčních vztazích s dalšími větami, resp. tvrzeními. Zaměření této práce na myšlení... The topic of this dissertation is thinking in relation to inference, or reasoning, and to language. The main theoretical starting point is the inferentialism of Robert Brandom, and the main goal is, against the background of the inferentialist theory, understood here primarily as a model of linguistic practices, to explain thinking, understood primarily as an activity or process. Inference is thus the topic both in the sense of the activity of reasoning and in the sense of inferentialist interpretation of linguistic meaning and practices. The connection between thinking and language is understood here to be essential from the beginning, which is evident already in the plan to examine thinking within the framework of a theory of linguistic practices. The goal is thus to explicate the outlined connections. Inferentialism can be understood firstly as a kind of theory of meaning that starts from inference and not, like many other theories, from representation. Thus, according to inferentialism, representation is not something that can be used to explain meaning, but rather something that itself needs a non-trivial explanation.
