Předmětem bakalářské práce je návrh Komerčního centra Miris Garden v rámci prázdninového resortu, jež má dále zahrnovat hotel, marinu a nespočet apartmánových vil, které však nejsou součástí návrhu. Objekt se nachází na úpatí pohoří Velebit, nedaleko národního parku Paklenica a vesnice Starigrad-Paklenica v Zadarské župě v Chorvatsku. Zadání vychází z urbanisticky nesmyslné koncepce, a sice developerského záměru vybudovat sezónní prázdninový resort nacházející se takřka v lůně přírody, navíc měřítkem značně přesahující výše zmíněnou vesnici, nejbližší sídlo v dané oblasti. Bakalářské práci předcházel ateliérový projekt, který byl však po dlouhých úvahách a boji s vlastním svědomím zcela přepracován, zůstal z něj však původní záměr – v tamější krajině nežádoucí stavbu skrýt pod vrstvu zeminy a ukázat z ní co nejméně. Stavba je koncipovaná jako malá vesnice, shluk malých domků koncentrovaných do jedné dlouhé ulice, která je však poměrně členitá a vytváří tak ve své délce několik zákoutí a menších návsí. Tato ulice se otevírá směrem ke zmíněnému pohoří Velebit a částečně k Jaderskému moři. Zatímco přední, a také jediná viditelná fasáda je členitá, zbylé jsou schovány pod úrovní terénu. Budovou v podélném směru probíhá obslužný a zásobovací koridor, který odděluje obchody a restaurace od jejich zázemí, skladů a technologických místností. Pod severovýchodní částí objektu se nachází podzemní garáže. Střecha objektu je zelená, osázená ovocnými stromy a pochozí. Stejně tak je stromy osázen předprostor celého objektu, stromy stíní, poskytují útočiště ptákům a včelám. Plášť budovy je z dusaného betonu, jehož vrstvy opticky navazují na okolní krajinu tvořenou vápenci. V budově není výtah. Zázemí obchodů je koncipováno minimalisticky s ohledem na maximální možné využití venkovního prostoru a s ohledem na sezónní provoz. Osvětlení a větrání je zajištěno komíny, které tak transformují původní funkci komínů dle současných potřeb a požadavků.
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of the Miris Garden Commercial Centre within a holiday resort, which is also to include a hotel, marina and countless apartment villas, which are not part of the design. The property is located at the foot of the Velebit Mountains, near the Paklenica National Park and the village of Starigrad-Paklenica in Zadar County, Croatia. The assignment is based on an urbanistically nonsensical concept, namely the developer's intention to build a seasonal holiday resort located almost in the bosom of nature, in addition to a scale far exceeding the aforementioned village, the nearest settlement in the area. The bachelor's thesis was preceded by a studio project, which was, however, completely reworked after long deliberations and a struggle with one's own conscience, but the original intention remained – to hide the undesirable building in the local landscape under a layer of soil and to show as little of it as possible. The building is conceived as a small village, a cluster of small houses concentrated in one long street, which is, however, quite rugged and thus creates several nooks and small streets along its length. This street opens out towards the Velebit Mountains and partly towards the Adriatic Sea. While the front, and the only visible façade, is articulated, the others are hidden underneath the ground level. A longitudinal service and supply corridor runs through the building, separating the shops and restaurants from their back-of-house, warehouses and process rooms. There is an underground garage under the northeastern part of the building. The roof of the building is green, planted with fruit trees and sloping. The forecourt of the building is also planted with trees, the trees provide shade and shelter for birds and bees. The shell of the building is made of rammed concrete, the layers of which visually relate to the surrounding landscape of limestone. There is no lift in the building. The shops are designed in a minimalist way to maximise the use of outdoor space and to take account of seasonal use. Lighting and ventilation is provided by chimneys, thus transforming the original function of the chimneys according to current needs and requirements.
