The aim of the bachelor thesis is a linguistic comparison of modifying derivatives of nouns in Polish and Czech. The subject of my interest will be four word-forming categories, i.e nomina feminativa, nomina deminutiva, nomina augmentativa and nomina juvenium. On the basis of the attached literature and corpuses of the Czech and Polish languages, an analysis of the process of noun formation of individual categories will be performed. The thesis will also focus on the way alternations and irregularities occur in both languages and subsequently on the frequency of modifying derivatives and the role of their occurrence in contemporary Czech and Polish languages. Overall, the work will focus on the comparison of the described processes in both languages with an emphasis on the similarities and differences between the mentioned languages. Cílem bakalářské práce je jazyková komparace modifikačních derivátů podstatných jmen v polštině a češtině. Předmětem mého zájmu budou čtyři slovotvorné kategorie, tj. nomina feminativa, čili názvy ženské, deminutiva, čili zdrobněliny, augmentativa, čili slova zveličelá, a nomina juvenium, čili názvy mláďat. Na základě přiložené literatury a korpusů z řady SYN a Polského Národního Korpusu bude provedena analýza procesu slovotvorby podstatných jmen jednotlivých kategorií. Práce se bude také věnovat způsobu vzniku alternací a nepravidelností v obou jazycích a následně frekvencím modifikačních derivátů a rolí jejich výskytů v současném českém a polském jazyce. V závěru se práce zaměří na srovnání popsaných procesů v obou jazycích s důrazem na podobnosti a odlišnosti uvedených jazyků.
