Diplomová práce pojednává o vývoji samosprávy a správy hlavního města Prahy od roku 1918 až do roku 1960. Práce je rozdělena do pěti hlavních kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje vývoji správy před rokem 1918. Druhá kapitola má za cíl přiblížit období od roku 1918 (vznik Československa) do roku 1938, kdy došlo k podepsání mnichovské dohody. Třetí kapitola je věnována období nacistické okupace. Čtvrtá kapitola pak ukazuje vývoj v poválečném Československu. Poslední kapitola zobrazuje veřejnosprávní proces během komunistické totality od roku 1948 do roku 1960. Cílem diplomové práce je popsat významné události ve vývoji hlavního města Prahy. Práce se také věnuje jednotlivým představitelům pražské komunální politiky. Klíčová slova: samospráva- obecní správa- primátor- Praha- volby- magistrát- This diploma thesis traces the development of the Capital City of Prague`s regional and municipal governmental bodies from 1918 to 1960. The work consists of five main chapters. The first chapter outlines the state of Prague`s municipality prior to 1918. The second chapter spans from 1918 (the birth of Czechoslovakia) to 1938 and the signing of the Munich Agreement. The third chapter covers the period of the Nazi occupation. The fourth chapter draws focus to the post-war developments in Czechoslovakia. The final chapter depicts the processes of public administration during the communist totalitarianism between 1948 and 1960. The objective of diploma thesis is describe important events in development of Capital City of Prague. The work also pays attention to individual representatives of Prague`s municipal politics.
